You are, of course, correct. The flute in the recording is a standard flute played by the legendary Jim Horn, member of the famed Wrecking Crew, who has played with the biggest and best... Beach Boys, Beatles, Rolling Stones.... on and on. The two guys in the video with recorders are just clowning. The bass player and drummer are the only ones portraying the parts they actually played on the record. The singer in the video didn't play guitar and the actual guitar player is faking one of tthe flutes. The 2nd guitar player in the video was spliced in from a separate video. Canned Heat was one of the many bands at Woodstock. The other song they're most known for is "On The Road Again", another "spiritual cover", sung in that same pseudo-falsetto voice. (They also had a later hit called "Let's Work Together"...yet another blues cover).

back in the late 60s when I was devouring everything blues after first hearing John Mayall's Blues Breakers I found Bull Doze Blues first and then later heard the Canned Heat version. Both in my Blues playlist.

Hey NittPicc, it's so cool you did this video. Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about block on the Canned Heat video. If you search "quills" on your Discord, you'll see I posted a photo of Henry Thomas with a link to an article on quills in blues/jazz music in the 'music chat' channel. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸͺˆ Next do a split screen of yourself...flute on one side and bass on the other. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Mayall played piano on a couple of tracks on this Canned Heat album! I first heard about Henry Thomas while listening to a Taj Mahal anthology. Taj covered Henry's "Fishin' Blues".
