The live surprised me with the audio being used in the video. It was purely the venue audio, is what it seemed like, unless I'm crazy?

Akane's self-cover cams are the best to see what techniques she's using via her double bass kick and hearing th difference between the cymbal sounds. I love it!

The Miku cam? Let's just say, I'm not okay after that...

May 10 is Maid's Day, a very special day indeed. For the best version of this song (IMO) listen to the 2017 Studio Coast concert. It is on Band-Maid Prime ([OKYUJI] "BAND-MAID お給仕TOUR Autum-Winter 2017 at 8 minutes 12 seconds in).

The self-cover videos are fun to watch, exploring more of those I would recommend. Band Maid is one of two bands I know that bring this much content to their fans, the other is The Warning. As always, thanks for this and all you do.

I'm no drummer either. But I do know that the ride cymbal is the one appearing in the upper right corner of the screen on the top down view, low and between the right rack tom and the floor tom. It's played rhythmically, like the hi-hat (as seen in the quieter sing-along sections) Generally. While the crash cymbals are for accents. Generally. lol I really enjoyed this. I love hearing all the extra detail that Kanami writes into her compositions, which is also why I'd occasionally recommend the studio tracks for first reactions to some songs

I was so bummed about this. I had found Band Maid in summer 2017 and so wanted to go see them when they came in 2018. Two of my friends said they were thinking about going, but both chickened out, so I went to get a ticket for myself. It was only 3 days later, but they were sold out. I felt horrible, but vowed that if they came back, I wouldn't wait. So the next year, I did get a ticket (3 actually, ended up giving 2 away) VIP. for the last show in LA at Echoplex. $58 for VIP with preshow meet and greet. Might the best decision I ever made and best money I ever spent.

Akane is a beast, pure and simple! And she makes it look easy!! With all the energy she expends playing drums, it's no wonder she eats so many bananas (and ramen. and sushi. and everything else, LOL). Bananas are great for avoiding muscle cramps.

On the Miku self cover, it does seem like she may be flirting with the viewer, but I also like the fact that I see a little bit of cockiness in her as she shows off what she can do on that beautiful Flappy Pigeon. And damn, the Flappy Pigeon is roaring Po! Kuruppo! Our small Pigeon is a badass!!

These are the tracks in my "BAND-MAID Instrumentals" playlist. "The Dragon Cries (drum&bass only)" is made by Wave Potter by subtracting the vocals and guitars. I like it very much, so, I added it here as well. All others, I think, are official releases.| Ah, sorry. "Go Nuts!!" is my own bootleg recording from Kioto Harbor Studio OKYUJI, January 11, 2020. It was made using ZOOM H6 recorder, which is a professional equipment. But I was at the back of the hall, and honestly, the noise of the air conditioners was sometimes louder than the music... If you want to have them all, I can share them with you. Unfortunately, they are not in one folder, I was placing them in various folders depending on the time of their release. But I can send them to you in one way or the other, if you wish. Many of them were ripped from the videos on PRIME, so, you already have access to them.

Oh, fantastic!. I'd forgotten about that Lodge Room video. That was in 2018. They look so young on camera... I haven't heard many percussionists as musical as Akane (Copeland, Peart...); every time I watch her self-covers, I realize how much music she plays in each song. It's not just rhythm, it's music! And that beauty of Miku, of course.

Hola NittPicc! The cymbal with the holes is a Zildjian S series Trash Crash. The holes disrupt the normal vibration of the cymbal giving it a distorted trashy sound. Akane chose this because she rides on the crash cymbal frequently during choruses and wanted something that would not interfere with Saiki's vocals. In 2023 she replaced it with a K Custom Hybrid Trash Smash (you can see it in Miku's video). The K doesn't have holes. It has hammering and a cup design that do the same thing that the holes do on the S. And yes, I sleep fine!

I usually end up more or less in front of Saiki at the shows. Good view of Miku and Kanami as well. Bad view of MISA, although they'll usually wander away from "home base" during the show so everyone can see them. Akane's always stuck in the back, of course... If anything the Maids are prettier in person, video honestly does them no favors. If Nittpicc gets a spot near the rail at a live show I don't know if she's gonna be okay, LOL... then again she won't be getting getting sly smiles from Miku all show long...

I see you were struck by the "Playboy Pigeon" as Kanami has called her sometimes, Miku for a little pigeon....is a super-cute GIANT flirt....lol!! I went to the 2nd and last US show of the 2018 tour in SF at The Chapel, as the Lodge Room in LA was the first, it was also my first Band Maid show and I ended up on MISA's side about 10 people back.....awesome show. Miku was a RIOT at the meet n greet...lol!!

Somehow I had missed the flirty Miku on Prime until recently when I was frustrated with the Onset OLV and wanted to see her guitar part... and her flirt was more intense than this one and I'm glad I don't have a heart condition! Probably a helpful skill for successful cafe maids and idol contest contestants. I wonder if there were a lot of very sad people when Miku left the cafe...
