Oh Yui...you sweet, sweet summer child.

I get it though. I get distracted when I am trying to work as well! A lot...

When I was her age I wanted to practice more than do my homework, too.

It's good that you bring up Band-Maid at the end, because I forgot to post my comment last week about personalities and instrument. Bass : A pretty shy and mature looking girl who is friend with the drummer Drums : An energic girl, always up to have fun and eat Keyboard : A rather ladylike girl, always polite but could be intimidating Guitar : A newbie but hardworking when she want and rather clumsy, quite fun to be around too Don't that remind you of anyone ? I won't say that K-on! was Band-Maid the anime before Band-Maid existed, but it's funny that you can see some similarity between the K-on! girls and our maids. As for the training camp, I saw it multiples time in anime which happens at school, club take some time for just training on their activities, especially if these club have contest, concert or other kind of events like that. So maybe it has a part of truth and our maids did that at school and decided to do it again as a band. It's always a good exercise to train and bring the member closer. Also, for the studying thing... Well, I don't remember studying that much, I was always attentive and learned almost everything like that (I have a pretty good memory), after middle school, I went to a graphic design high school, so didn't really need to study anymore, it was more practical skill than knowledge at this point. But now, I know I'm easely distracted, but I learned so much things just because I'm curious, that I know how I work ^^.

The band training camp kinda thing is slightly more frequently a thing in Japan, same as access to well equipped rehearsal studios is far more common in urban areas; though it's also a bit of anime trope used more generally as a way of having similar activities but in different surroundings. As for the ED 'Don't Say Lazy' there are some English covers on YT, but they don't really flow the same and sound kinda awkward to my ears. The song itself has been covered by tons of artists, including the VAs themselves for anime concerts back in the day (albeit playing very simplified versions of the parts intermittently supported with backing tracks, this wasn't the same level of commitment as Togenashi Togeari from GBC or the ladies behind Kessoku Band in Bocchi). I'll posts links to a few notable examples in the Discord and it might make for a fun comparison reaction video.

You asked if anyone had recorded "Don't Say Lazy"? I know Nemophila, Scandal and the Gibson Replay band (includes Asaka from TRiDENT and Kaho from Faulieu) plus many other bands have posted versions on YT. It's very catchy.

I remember Kanami once cut her finger with the string while practising, and in a twit, called for Saiki to come and save her, otherwise she may bleed to death. I can't find this twit now, but I don't think it's my imagination...

In terms of the whole cutting your finger on guitar strings, I've only ever caused myself to bleed by accidentally stabbing myself when restringing guitars or maybe tearing the skin fold behind the cuticle on my strumming hand when playing shreddy high tempo rhythm guitar parts. Can imagine you could cause yourself issues if you let the strings get to the rusty stage, corroded strings might end up flaking which'd result in sharp fragments perhaps.
