This was an experience. I honestly listened to this a couple more times on my way to the flute mum party.

The way this song plays with the idea of attending a church sermon is really something else. It is amazing that the guitar playing by Moore feels like a choral leader singing gospel to the congregation.

This is a Rock'n'Roll church experience!

Gary Moore is one my guitar heroes. His guitar technique gets me everytime. Sadly, Gary left us very soon. He's rocking wherever he is in with Stevie Ray Vaughan blowing amps. Gary was a expert bluesman. I recomend "Blues for Narada", "Parisienne walkways", "Still got the blues" and "Story of the blues". Also somewhat more simple but very catchy songs like "Empty rooms", " Falling in love with you", "Separate ways".

Gary Moore stands with my other guitar heroes, Page, Blackmore, Allman, Gilmour, Clapton, Hendrix, May and Stevie Ray. There are others I enjoy. Recently, last spring, I have discovered new to me guitarists that I am falling in love with. They all hail from Japan and a pair from Korea. I am enjoying genres and sub-genres I previously was not keen on, so glad I did not stay closed to new things. Thanks for helping me discover new artists NittPicc, you and others have helped an older dog discover that music did not die on the vine.

Sadly, we can't hear his amazing emotional playing anymore. Gary was one of those guitarist that put his body and soul into his music. He's on a short list of one of the greatest guitarist. Thanks for discovering him, you won't be disappointed with any of his works.

BTW…this is a cover song. The OG version is by Roy Buchanan. Less flash but far more depth and soul.

You don't always have to be fast or shreddy to be a guitar great. You just need to play with feeling and convey emotion ;) .

Gary was only in Thin Lizzy as an official member for a few short stints here and there, but he appears on a number of their albums as "additional musicians" on select tracks. (He does not appear on any of the songs that played on American radio.) Prior to that he was a member of Irish band Skid Row, along with several other Thin Lizzy members.
