I learn something new everyday!

I learned that So Hyang has original songs and that Jinjoo, who is So Hyang's sister-in-law, plays guitar for the band DNCE. Joe Jonas, of The Jonas Brothers is in that band, and I really like a few of their songs!

Anyway, this is your typical pop song, but it has So Hyang's gorgeous voice and Jinjoo's guitar playing. It's worth checking out if you've never heard it before!

You are missing so much with Sohyang because until this video, the previous video’s you’ve watched have been very similar but Sohyangs vocal technique is so good that she can adapt her voice to any genre and you have yet to experience more of this side of Sohyang. There are video’s of her singing rock ( Mona Lisa), blues/jazz ( misty), classical ( Lacrimosa) k-pop ( golden) musicals ( never enough), rap ( day day) etc etc.

Sohyang chose not to go for world wide exposure, turning down offers from all the major record companies, opting to go at her own pace & do what she wanted to ( if you understand her back story with her health then it maybe makes sense that she would choose a different path to most, her priorities are probably different). She is defo 40 in this vid, she is now 47, born in 1978.

Until about 8 yrs ago when Sohyang first started popping up on YouTube, it wasn’t that she was just unknown outside Korea, she wasn’t even mainstrean in her own country, she was very much only well known in the gospel community. On top of that, I myself came across her about 7 yrs ago here in the UK, when I, like a lot of people discovered this amazing woman when I came across her iconic performance of ‘bridge over troubled water’ and have followed her ever since & I have noticed that it’s only in the last 2-3 years that it’s become noticeable that they are more people in the US reacting to her performances, but still totally nowhere near the amount her talents deserve, it takes time for word to get around. It seems ridiculous that in a world where we are all aware of the big diva’s, Whitney, celine, Mariah, and even Sarah Vaughn & Ella Fitzgerald etc that we have this relatively unknown singer in comparison, Sohyang, who can not only stand toe to toe with any of them but at any given time can sound like all of them at the same time sounding like herself. Up until 2 yrs ago, she didn’t have her own presence on social media, she really keeps out of the limelight, fame & fortune is certainly not what drives her.

I totally agree. I first discovered her in 2015 when I started watching Immortal Songs 2 on YouTube. Catching one of her performances in-person is very high on my bucket list.
