Like I said in this video...

If I had this voice, I wouldn't shut up. I'd be singing constantly and I am sure that all my friends and family would be sick of me.

I wouldn't care.

Also, adding the Huntertones sharing their sound with Lake Street Dive was a smooth move here!

Wurlitzer 200 series electric piano. Also heard on Ray Charles’ “What I’d Say”, Queen “You’re My Best Friend”, several Supertramp songs, and many others. Not to be confused with the Fender Rhodes electric piano…the Doors “Riders in the Storm”, Billy Joel “Just the Way You Are”, Bob James “Angela (theme from Taxi)”, etc.

Lake Street Dive!!! They keyboard player joined in 2017 after founding member Mike Olson (blonde hair/glasses - guitar/tumpet) quit. The guitarist joined in 2021. I'm not used to seeing Bridget play a standard electric bass. I've most often seen her on upright acoustic bass. I'm curious what make/model microphone Rachel is using.

I have my uncle's old 1980 Wurly. One day I'll learn to play it. (Let's all hold our breath together!😀 )

Glad you enjoyed this! I agree with you on the vocals, Rachael Price's voice is absolutely amazing. She's my favorite vocalist. She's got such a rich and soulful timbre it just hits me perfectly every time. Lake Street Dive is the band I've seen live the most (8 times!) and every show there's been at least one moment where I've been awestruck by how good she is. The time I saw them in 2024 also included the guys from Huntertones playing with them for the whole show, which was a real treat! Rachael also has a side project called Rachael and Vilray where she and another vocalist/guitarist make 1930s-1940s style jazz, which is also fantastic. Both her and Vilray's voices compliment that style perfectly. I've seen them perform 3 times, bringing my total times seeing Rachael perform up to 11. I think I'm a bit of a fan of hers. 😅 I too have seen the comments on Lake Street Dive (and Lawrence as well) similar to what you said. I don't understand it either, or any other time I've seen people criticize a band or something as being "too good". I just take it as a good sign that I don't understand these negative people!

Slight correction, Akie Bermiss (Keyboard) joined the band as an additional member in 2017, Mike Olson stayed in the band at that time until he left in 2021, and then was replaced by James Cornelison. (You can see both Mike and Akie on the cover of their 2021 album "Obviously" and I saw them play together in the band at a few shows between 2017 and 2019). From what I've seen, Bridget plays electric bass guitar on most of the songs from their latest album "Good Together". She swaps back and forth between the Electric and upright bass during live shows depending on the song. It'll be interesting to see which she ends up using going forward. I always liked that she played the upright bass, but she may have reasons for wanting to switch.

Ok. I thought Mike left earlier than that. Standard bass is likely much easier to play..and just manage in general, but you can't beat the tone of the upright. From a fan perspective, the upright is a visual delight. Like a piece of furniture. 🤣

Agreed, I think it's really cool and unique that Bridget uses upright bass. I hope she continues to use it going forward, even if not full time.

Wait ... who is gonna hold your breath :p ???
