It's Saturday morning.

The birds are chirping outside my window and there is light shining through the blinds in my bedroom.

I hear the faint sounds of typical video game gun shots coming from my brother's room.

I grab my little pillow and a blanket and in my dazed feeling of just waking up, I walk into my brother's room and plop myself down right next to him. Not one word is spoken. Just two kids playing video games together on a Saturday morning...

The game was "Tail Concerto."

We never had the opportunity to play the full game since we only had a demo. My brother now owns the NA version of it and still hasn't beat it. I wonder if he ever will...

If I remember correctly, I was around 12 when my brother had this game on playstation, european version since I live in France and even if I didn't knew how to play correctly, I launched the game just for the intro sometime, that was maybe one of my first time earing a japanese opening for something and it stuck to me since. So listening to it isn't a trip to memory lane just for you ^^. About the "japanese version", if my information are correct and I remember them correctly, I think US version had this intro, but without the singing... Weird choice but I assume it was to not confuse americans childs with a language they didn't know and not engaging another singer to translate and sing it instead (which is funny since now Kokia also have an international career where she sing in english if i'm not mistaken ^^'). What I like about this song, the voice of Kokia of course, but it have a very melancholic feeling with a dose of epicness, this song feel the adventure, the possible end of the world and sad memory that hurt but are still being cherrished. This is pretty emotional and engaging, the little kid I was maybe didn't undesrtand all of that, but I now clearly can feel it. As for your question, my guilty pleasure might be the No More Heroes games (I only played the first 2 on wii), they're far from perfect, but it like a Tarantino movie made game, there is this cast of weird but strangely endearing characters, a lot of blood and violence, a dose of humour and a soundtracks that will be stuck in your mind for long after the end of the games.

Yes! While I was editing this afterwards I was thinking that the composition was a good representation of heroics and sadness. Kokia’s voice is angelic but gives enough strength to be powerful! I need to check out your guilty pleasure game!
