As I look forward to the BAND-MAID concert in October of this year, I can't help but imagine the possibilities of what their concert is going to be like.

I tell myself to not have expectations on what a show might be like, but from what everyone has said, it's hard to not shake in excitement until then.

Honestly, I start sweating when I think about going to the concert...which is embarrassing!

I hope an experience like this, in any form, is something I can look forward to!

That's MISA's mother, in front of whom MISA played her solo in "onset."

David Cousins

Yes, during Onset when Misa stops walking that is who you think it is. That the ladies could walk around without being surrounded by security is something that I do not believe would happen in North America or Europe, and some other places (sadly). Having watched the Blu-Ray many times, the entire show is amazing. As for fancam footage of shows, outside of Japan you will be able to film unless otherwise stated (correct me if mistaken). I have seen other bands filmed in Japan with what I believe to be fancam footage, this is usually for up-and-coming bands. I know the excitement for seeing the ladies, I leave for Japan on the 25th of this month and will see Lovebites, Miyako doing a Piano show and then Band Maid. The closer it gets the more excited I get, going to see all of them in Japan - pinch me. Again, enjoy these and thanks.

Sawzar

So cool! I think Misa went actually in front of her mother on her solo part in Onset...

Vlad the Maidiac

Well, if you remember, Miku once came down to the audience at an OKYUJI in the States. I don't remember now in which venue it happened. I think it was 2019. In Europe it's actually safer than in the States. At least, nobody wears guns. Overseas, the Maids are perfectly fine with people filming the shows. I remember in Bochum a security guy said, "No filming!", but then I went a little deeper into the crowd, further away from him, and he was not chasing me and allowed me to do it.

I believe in Japan recording concerts is generally not allowed, and between that and the great courtesy they show in respecting the experience of each attendee, it makes me want to go there for a long time.

Wayne B

That was so cool! The proud mom moment!

Wayne B

Am I mistaken, or is the guitar Miku is playing in "Onset" a "Starry Pigeon"?

Wayne B

I love the fun "Shocked" look from Akane as ALL her bandmates leave her alone on stage, fun! Yes, new opening for "Freedom"!

Wayne B

I have recorded a little of the Band-Maid servings, but honestly, I want to enjoy the experience without taking my attention away from the show.

Wayne B

No phones allowed to be used without express permission in Japan. A part of the respect the Japanese concert goers understands.

Charles Coleman

Same here Wayne. I just want to live in the now and drink it all in!

Wayne B

There is an early group called the Dawn Patrol which shows up way early to get in line. SJ Nix and Peter Lim are the creators of that. For example, I showed up to the Denver show at 7am, and I was number four in line, lol! Meet ups before and after the shows are common and fun!

Glenner7

In the Yokohama Arena documentary, we see Akane, Kanami, and Akane making a tour of the arena walkways before the show, and they were joking that Akane should have been in a big bubble with wheels. Seeing them in Japan versus overseas is like night and day, apparently - I'm so glad we have so many great fancams to go along with the official releases.

Charles Coleman

Yes, I agree. To those who plan on recording any of the upcoming concerts, just remember to be considerate to those around you. Film and record all you want, but please do not block the view of your fellow Okyjiists. If you hold your phone/camera above your head, you will be blocking the view of at least one or possibly more people. Let us all do our best to make sure that everyone has the very best Okyuji experience!

Wayne B

Exactly!

Charles Coleman

Not sure if it was during Choose Me or not, but at one point during a walk around, Saiki either high-fived or fist bumped Misa's Mom. You could see it on the live stream, but I don't think it made the cut for the Video. But again, a very cool moment! They were doing their best to share themselves with their fans in a safe way.

Charles Coleman

As far as meet-ups go, ask SJ Nix (or anyone really) about "Dawn Patrol." Also, pretty much the entire time before the concert starts is one big meet-up, LOL! I would also encourage people to try and organize after parties in the local watering holes once the schedule of venues is announced. They had one on Philly in 2022 that was an absolute blast! The Tattooed Mom just a couple blocks away were fantastic hosts and the place was polluted with Maidiacs!

Richard Knowles

No filming is the rule in Japan. Some small bands ln live houses allow it. But Band-Maid generally allows it overseas. The early line up is called the "dawn patrol". Probably the discord BM community is the place to look.

Vlad the Maidiac

No no no, it's a different one. It's ZEMAITIS, of course, but the pigeons on the fretboard are just separate birds, they don't perch on a long twig as they are on Starry Pigeons. It was obviously an attempt of ZEMAITIS at creating another signature guitar, but I think PRS came to them and complained that they infringe on their trademark "birds on the fretboard" design. So, it remained a prototype only, and never found it's way into production. Buy obviously, Miku did not discard the idea, and after some thought (and probably negotiations with PRS) they decided that a branch running through the fretboard makes it different enough from PRS design, and it was released.

During Choose Me, Michelle, a Madiac and Youtuber that was at a lot of the US tour dates was there and Kanami recognized her and waved back. Kanami had a surprised look on her face, like saying "OMG! You're here!" https://youtu.be/k_gCBAJQvEI?si=WwogEs3ss4C7hHdm Michelle talks about it and there's video at 8:40 of the You Tube vid,

Wayne B

That's very probable!

Bill Hallisey

The only thing that can be disappointing about going to a Band-Maid is looking forward to hearing them play one of your songs and them not playing it. The Maids have such an extensive catalog of great songs, it is impossible to play them all. They best attitude to have about that is knowing hear great music and you were fortunate enough to hear them play your favorite song live. It'll be something you'll never forget. The Maids always seem to include a surprise intro or conversation/duel to different songs during the show making that show unique and special.

Glenner7

It's on the DVD, but it was Miku who gave her a high five during Rock In Me. NittPicc did a reaction to it on Patreon.

Glenner7

Yes, Michelle's Band=Maid vlogs are great!

Randy Hammill

I think it’s more likely that they I think it’s early in its development. Whether it’s the same physical guitar or not, we won’t know. But Miku was asked about a new signature guitar during a livestream and was very coy about it. She also talked about it briefly in the Yokohama documentary, I think.

Randy Hammill

Band-Maiko and Cluppo are both short EPs do you could do both… :)

Charles Coleman

Yes, but in the original livestream as it was happening, Saiki high fived her too. So very cool to see!

Wayne B

I think Vlad is correct. This one was a one-off prototype. I just watched a video of someone in Japan unboxing his new "Starry Pigeon" to go with his "Flappy Pigeon" and his Kanami Signature PRS and a guitar with NEK! on it, so the new one is out for Zemaitis! So happy for the Small Pigeon and a bit jealous of the guy, lol!

Randy Hammill

Here’s another version of Choose Me from this show, stitched together from 24 fan cams. https://youtu.be/1UKPUwzYFI0?si=3DeZto8lS4zoGbeB Even though they are using in-ear monitors and a click, it’s still incredibly impressive how tight they are when walking around the crowd. The delay from one end of the arena to the other would be significant making playing or singing in time very challenging.

Randy Hammill

Yeah, I saw that unboxing. So cool.

Chris Bergsten

Maidiacs feel pretty protective of the Maids. I'm pretty sure that if anyone grabbed one of them at a show, some of the audience would be on them immediately.

Bill Hallisey

NittPicc, speaking of MISA looking like her mother, there is a picture of MISA with an adorable little girl who looks exactly like MISA. I believe she is one of MISA's nieces. Maybe someone can find that picture and send it to you. I'm not technologically skilled at that (being an old troglodyte). LOL!

Vlad the Maidiac

Well, of course they are all friends, and go visit each other's houses very often. The Maids' parents are very supportive of their daughters, and of course seeing the family members at a big show like this was a great source of joy for both parents and daughters.

Vlad the Maidiac

You should not be shy about contacting Peter Lim. He is a great guy, and definitely could give you an advice on how to proceed with that Maid costume. Just write him through a Facebook Messenger, he'll be glad to help, I'm sure. And if you need any financial support, I'll be glad to help as well. Just tell your fans how much money you need, and I'm sure the crowdfunding will help you a lot.

I hate to yuck your yum, but there's been no cities announced for the October tour. While it's possible and even probable, there's no guarantee there will even be a Dallas show. But I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Charles Coleman

Thanks Vladimir! I hope that you and all that you love are well and happy!

Nomad1991

During the show in Portland 2023 they had one security guard follow them but they had a walk way kanami, miku walked between the crowds they where high fiving people

Nomad1991
