Am I going to survive this anime emotionally?!

I think I can start seeing past the deaths of the characters that I already loved within the first episode, but man...the life lessons that I am learning and experiencing along the way are just absolutely moving.

I cannot wait to learn more from Frieren and her journey with Fern.

Regarding emotions as you get older, aside from societal rules loosening up regarding showing emotion, I think it it's because we've accumulated more memories (and the emotions attached to those memories). These memories essentially add fuel for your emotional response. Just a hypothesis.

You've just begun your journey, you may not survive, but the journey is worth the time and effort to find the mystery at the end. You have your team and they'll carry you over the rough times. FYI - we've all been there FYI - Himmel in German means sky, so you'll see a lot of blue sky when she talks about, recalls Himmel.

Don't really have a favorite flower. But perfumery is one of my hobbies, and someone wanted me to make them something with jasmine sambac in it. (The sambac is a bit greener and not as cloyingly sweet as grandiflorum; think of jasmine green tea.) You can buy jasmine sambac extracts, but they're outrageously expensive, of course, and they don't really smell like the living flower. You can also buy reconstructions made by some of the major perfumery companies, but I don't necessarily like those either, so I set out to make my own. I had gotten into the general ballpark of what it should smell like and realized I needed a living flower for reference, so I bought a jasmine sambac (Belle of India, I think). But I bought it a bit too late in the season, and I live in an apartment without much sun exposure, so I only got a few little flowers and didn't get to finish my work. And because I'm pretty far north, I had to bring it inside for the winter, so it's been sitting under a lamp for months. It's my only plant; I'm no gardener. I feared I would end up just killing it, but it's been surviving okay... ...up until about a month ago, when all the leaves started shriveling up. Pretty sure I forgot to water it, but maybe there was another problem, IDK. I gave it a bunch of water but it didn't recover, it just kept drying out and dropping all its leaves. So, since I'd been planning to repot it this spring anyway, I did that, gave it a bunch of fresh soil, and took the opportunity to check the roots (they seemed fine?). I figured either it will live, or it will die in a few more weeks and I'll know to buy another one while it's still relatively early in the year. Anyway, it's been roaring back to life. New shoots everywhere, new leaves - I wouldn't call it lush yet, but it's heading that way. I have no idea if it will produce flowers this year, or if it was shocked too much, but anything could happen by summer, I guess.

Over the years I learned to never bottle up your feelings let it out it’s therapeutic to do so …that and my sign is cancer so I am just a big emotional baby 😅….this anime is not about the destination it’s about the journey along the way…we are only two episodes in and it’s amazing but what if I told you it gets even better 🤘🏻🫶🏻🤘🏻

This show has it all. Adventure, comedy, drama, action, fantasy, sadness, joy, hope. You will laugh, you will cry and you will be amazed. The journey of a lifetime like the main theme is called.

Episodes of Frieren have certainly gotten me emotional in places, we've barely gotten started overall, but there's also other shows which have affected me more. Wait until you get to certain parts of Violet Evergarden, that show emotionally destroys me in places without fail, albeit in a mostly cathartic fashion. But if flashback sequences are gonna trigger you then you're in for a rough time, as she said in the first episode she's making an effort to try and understand humans better and as she learns more, that accordingly allows her to look back and re-contextualise her past experiences. It does mean you get to see plenty of her past adventures though and learn more about her past party. Don't try and overthink and figure out the overarching plot of the show just yet, much like with Apothecary Diaries the scope continues to develop as the show progresses and you've only seen a very small sliver of the world building, we're only halfway through what is effectively the introduction to the show/opening chapter. In the flashback sequence where Himmel saves the little girl that turns into the old lady, it's a ferocious looking demon attacking the village, but it's not the Demon King himself or anything approaching that level of threat. Also tiny Fern is a precious cinnamon roll who must be protected at all costs, Heiter the corrupt alcoholic priest saving her from suicide after becoming a war orphan and taking her in would certainly count as a commendable act in Himmel's eyes. Plus in the additional mini flashback within the episode it's suggested that he met Fern's parents when he was younger.

I apologize for leaving you for a while but I signed up for a year. Thank you so much for reacting to this anime. It’s my favorite recent anime/manga. It’s truly top tier.

Perfumery as a hobby?! That's so freakin' cool! I LOVE perfume, but buying it (at least the fancy ones) is so expensive. Also, keep up with that little plant. I am not a gardener, but I love plants. I have a lot of them and some of them I forget to water from time to time. I do what you did. I'll water it, hope for the best, and then repot it if I think it needs some TLC.
