This episode absolutely BROKE me. I shouldn't apologize for the tears...but man...I was going for a while at the end...

My heart absolutely breaks for Shiraishi.

She's never had the opportunity for long terms friends, but she is learning with her group that just because you don't talk everyday or text...you're still friends. It's an understanding that you'll be there when you can.

Who are those friends for you?

This isn't an episode I can particularly provide any real additional insight into, you largely got all the necessary understanding straight off the bat. I think this episode also demonstrated how despite being in many ways very mature in the way she behaves, because she's effectively been raised working in the entertainment/acting business, at times it's still obvious that Yuzuki is a year younger than the other girls (a bit like Azusa in K-On). I have a slightly awkward relationship with my birthday, but only in the practical sense as it's three days before Xmas so organising anything has always been a bit of a nightmare. My mum's also a December birthday and my youngest brother is early January, so when we were growing up she always made a point of focusing on birthdays more than Xmas to avoid any chance of feeling like our celebrations were playing second fiddle.

NittPicc,. for me riding a helicopter plenty of times. Both in Vietnam and while I was stateside in the Naval Reserves in the 70's. Even went through an auto-rotation drill. The scariest moment in my life. It passed before my eyes as the helicopter dropped. If want to know what an auto-rotation is look it up on Wikipedia. Then think about flying in a helicopter. LOL!!!

I'm definitely more emotional since meeting my wife and having kids - I think that's partly being brought up in a family where my parents divorced when I was 5 and everything feeling a bit distant growing up, and I definitely don't want that for my kids. In terms of friends, I'm lucky that there's a group of us that were in school together, so from about age 11, who then all went off to different places for university, but mostly returned to Manchester for work. Even though we all now have busy lives and families, when we get together we just slip straight back into how things have always been - 35 years later...
