It feels like it's been forever since I have seen these lovely faces and I really missed them!

Look, the album version is killer. The way Akane and Kanami are working this track is insane. The way each member is featured is great.

...but the live version. Saiki had me wrapped around her finger!!!

The day that Kanami had too much sugar

A typical Band-Maid 'B-side' 😂🤘🏻 In a way, Screaming gave us a taste back in 2018 of what would become their standard a few years later. They were testing the waters, and maybe themselves. I’d say the test was a success. :) As for Saiki, I’m a little nervous. She’s already won my heart over the years, but I’m afraid that in June she won’t just rip it out of me, but that I’ll also let her do whatever she pleases with it. 😇

Thanks great reaction as always.

If you know a bit more Japanese, you will even more fall for Saiki. Those gestures/face expressions/ movements & voice, she try to match with every single words according to the meaning. I know lots of singers doing that but Saiki is a cool type so when she did it awesomely cool 😎 . That’s why I secretly really want them to make BESTIE of Japanese version. I know she doesn’t understand English very well, I think that’s why something lacking. Of course that’s just me and my opinions 😙. I love everything Band Maid songs.

I believe you heard already, yesterday Okyuji in Japan they debuted new song called ‘DAYS’

I believe the vocal filters are controlled at the sound board by the bands own audio engineer. I don't think there is anything Saiki would be able to do to control the filters. The in house audio person would not be familiar enough with the bands songs to control the filters. I am not an audio/sound engineer, so I am just speculating. If you've ever heard Matchless Gum by the band, there is a section where Saiki's vocals are stuttered. I think this is done by their sound person using some kind of kill switch to cut her mic input on and off. It sounds really unique. Also, this is another amazing song you should react to.

Good grief, indeed! So fast and cool!

I saw and heard "Screaming" the first time at their live concert in Atlanta in May 2023. I had been a Band-Maid fan for a few years at that point, but I had never heard this song. Hearing it for the first time WAS AMAZING!!!!! I surprised, flabbergasted, overwhelmed, amazing and every word you could think of hearing it for the first. I was not the only person experiencing that for the first time. The entire audience was amazed and the energy in the room jumped to another level. Simply, it was a WOW! moment in my life.

Another favorite of mine from Band-Maid!

One of the most amazing things about "Screaming" is that it's the B-side to "Start Over," lol. Jokes aside, this is probably the foundational song of their more modern style. Oh, and "Black Hole" is written at 220 bpm because "Screaming" is at 215. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any challenge to overcome, lol.

You should check out Misa, Akane, and Kanami trying to play this blindfolded. Its hilarious. This was the B-side to Start Over. That song was worn in part because they had heard Band-Maid songs were hard to sing at karaoke. So Start Over was written with a melody that was easier to sing. It’s a bit more pop and features piano more prominently. Kanami has also said there were originally more guitar parts but she stripped a lot of them out. But they didn’t want people to think they were going pop, so wanted a song that was the opposite. Thus, pulling out all the stops for Screaming.

Until Unseen World, Saiki only recorded the main vocal and ad libs. The harmony lines (and often other ad libs) are always Kobato. The “chorus” (as in choir, not a section of the song) is all Kobato too, until Saiki started to participate in that around Unseen World.

They can be added by an effect pedal, just like you would a guitar. In that case the vocalist controls it themselves. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull did this a lot in the ‘70s. It could conceivably be triggered via the backing/click track. But it’s more likely as you suggest, and a tech does it for her. Brian May of Queen in later years had his tech turn effects on and off for him. Among other things it means he doesn’t have to be at a pedal board during the show. The tech knows the song and when to turn it on/off. I agree and think this is how they do it for Saiki.

There’s a [Self-cover] KANAMI "Screaming" (Pull Angle ver.) on band-maid prime it’s super fast 🤘🏻🫶🏻🤘🏻

All I can say is, thank God they didn't tell Saiki about the Maid outfit. Holy crap!! The musicianship is crazy good here and Saiki just refuses to let you ignore her! Total Badassery!!

Can you do a reaction to Band Maid Billboard Live Acoustic Tour in Japan 2025

Glenner7

What an odd language you speak -- "one tay tah tay" or "one lee lah". This makes me think that the rhythm for all Taylor Swift songs would be one tay tay... :-) Sorry.
