I know that Frieren is a cool cat with a pretty even temperament, but I'm sorry...she is SCARY in this episode.

She is a force to be reckoned with!

I am sorry for my obnoxious screaming in this episode, but seeing her take out that demon was satisfying and frightening at the same time.

I am proud of Fern and Stark. They are becoming stronger with Frieren guiding them!

Remember that you've still got a lot of episodes left and it only gets better from this point forward.

As the saying goes, one person's mage is another person's slayer ;)

Well, we can talk now about this . This show is really called in Japanese "Sousou no Frieren", which means "Frieren the Slayer". "Beyond Journeys End" is the International name.

I love the opening of this episode. "You're right probably can't cut through this wire...But I CAN cut through YOU." Next episode the kids find out just how powerful they really are. Here is a translation from German of some of the names: Lügner is German for "liar." Draht is German for "wire." Linie is German for "line" or "trace" as in copying a drawing. Graf is a German term of nobility like count. Himmel means "sky" or "heaven" in German and when he is shown you will always see the sky in the background. Frieren means "being cold" or "to be freezing" in German. Heiter in German means "cheerful," but it can also mean "one quarter cloudy" and "tipsy, slightly drunk." This may allude to three aspects of his character: his outer personality, his friendship with Himmel, and his love for alcohol. Eisen means "iron" in German. Fern in German means "remote" or "far away." Stark means "strong" in German, as in "a Stark contrast."

One thing I want to point out, we've seen Fern attacking while being undetected, it's a cool features of her, but it is one we know for quite some times. Already when she was a baby, the first time she met Frieren, Frieren had trouble finding her because she knew to mask her mana well, and with all this years with Frieren, you can bet she had progressed in that domain. In this episode, Frieren is able to detect the mana of Aura at a distance of 10 kilometers, so 6,21 miles, if Frieren who is able to do that, couldn't find young Fern, that mean a lot of mages wouldn't be able too.

This is a an excellent episode & as you noted the first time you've properly seen Frieren seem truly cold and calculated but you're still very early on overall, this is a good mini-arc. Not gonna give any spoilers, but things aren't necessarily going to be straightforward.
