Being able to see the hands give me insight to what is being played.

Kanami for sure is doing a lot of work under all of Saiki's singing and man, is it good! She is casually playing 16th note patterns and then switching to quarter notes was crazy to hear and see.

Misa always having a moving bass line that can stand alone and brings out the melody...

...and the unison lines between Kanami, Misa, Akane and Saiki.

This song is a goodie!

The bass Misa uses in this song is a Black Smoker SG style. Misa's basses, that she currently plays, are all Black Smoker. I'm not up on the acoustic bass she played during the acoustic shows last April. There is a list of all the basses she has collected over the years online. She has 2 signature models now, the newest being black, like the one played during the Dice MV. Band Maid songs, the ones they composed, can be very busy - deceptively at times. I've come to expect it, sometimes it takes a few listens to hear. On a different note, they are dropping their new single Energetic on the 24th with a new MV. You may want to take a look and listen. The physical copy has the songs Days and Cage as well.

The discussion about backing tracks always reminds me of Rush. It was impossible for three people to translate everything they composed into a song while playing all those instruments. Over time, they refined their technique with samplers, triggers, pedals, etc. None of that made their live performances any less "organic." Band Maid's use of backing tracks follows that philosophy of skillfully and intelligently using technology to translate much of their composition to a live setting. For me, it's perfect. BTW: I was never aware of Kanami's guitar lines until I listened to this Blu-ray. Something the girls should review is the compression level of their recordings.

What will I be? I wonder? Fun song!

Yes, Band-Maid uses backing tracks, which they record themselves. Since they use a click, I’m pretty sure the backing tracks are usually the studio tracks with the parts they play live removed/muted. They are primarily effects, synths, occasional extra guitar and/or drums, additional background vocals, and ad lib vocals.

The bass MISA is playing in this is a custom from Black Cloud shaped like a SG bass. MISA's yellow one is also a custom bass from Black Cloud.
