I know it's only the first part of the acoustic concert, but the start of this set is absolutely lovely so far.

I really love how the Maids work on these acoustic tracks to make them work acoustically. What's fun about this is sometimes it feels like the song now fits into a whole other genre. Not completely, but almost...and almost is fun enough for me!

How Band Maid arranges their songs for acoustic sets is wonderful, on the list is a Band Maid acoustic show - I'm sure I would be overwhelmed emotionally. An FYI, they released part 3 yesterday. I believe you are doing Cage next week and then back to Conqueror. May I suggest doing both part 2 and 3 next week, worth the listen. The other thing, I'm sure you'll get to it at some point, is the April 2025 acoustic show. Spoiler, Saiki performs Choose Me solo on a grand piano. The setlist is songs you know, so you'd be safe :) If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure I'll be corrected - Saiki first performed solo at the 10th anniversary show and Choose Me is the song. I can't explain it and don't feel the need, something about Saiki's singing just hits me differently and I like it. Thanks for doing this, can't help with the Sake as I don't drink and haven't for quite some time - but do enjoy.

as much as I love their hard stuff, this touches the soul in a most wonderful way. It's almost like getting two bands for the price of one and they're both incredible!

Their talent as arrangers is only comparable to their talent as composers. Any of these versions stands shoulder to shoulder with their rock versions because they are written with the same spirit of not repeating themselves and always offering the best possible version. This acoustic side (or their Maiko side, by the way) is not within the reach of many; it requires immense talent. This concert (and the next Billboard acoustic concert, which I also hope will be released on Prime) was streamed but not live.

The instrumental was I Still Seek Revenge. She also played keys on Lock and Load and at the Yokohama Arena finale with Choose Me again. Hmmm, will she play piano again in this show?? Stay tuned. This show was originally streamed as the edited version, not live.

Yeah, with these acoustic sessions—which really remind me of the old MTV days—the ladies really strike a chord with me. 😌 And I think when you look at their faces, you can tell they’re also having a blast slowing down the energy level a bit. ✨ The only one who seems totally underchallenged to me is our good Akane. 😂 I know someone else who gets a little uneasy in his stomach at the thought of traveling that far—especially alone, with no connections or contacts whatsoever in that country. I’m still a long way from being even able to do it, but who knows—maybe we should team up when the time comes. 😂

Paul Bame

OMG this was wonderful. Again. Thank you. Fun question... will you get rice wine or salmon if you order "sake" (the Romaji is the same for both)? You prob already know that sake meant to be enjoyed warm might not be good cold and vice versa.

Paul Bame

Nice pun - strike a chord :-) I also feel intimidated to travel solo to Japan and my one connection moved back to the US.

Phaeron

Since my mind thinks in German, and I'm mostly unaware of English puns, this one wasn't even intentional. :) But now that you mention it... 🤭

So true!

It really shows Kanami's genius!

I really love how Saiki's and Miku's voices are so wonderful in these acoustic sessions!

Wayne B

An adorable version of "One, two, three, four, parking lot!"

Wayne B

Saiki's hair cut is called the Princess cut, but I think it should be renamed the Queens Cut!

We want Band-Maid Acoustic Okyuji Live World Tour

You're smiling in this video aren't you? Your cheekbones look totally normal. Don't worry about it. There's a ton of variety in sake. Some of them are more like light beer, some are more like white wine. Some are fruitier, drier, or funkier. There's a type of sake that's unfiltered, nigori, that tends to have a stronger flavor and looks kinda like milk. There are different quality categories, too, depending on how it's made and how polished the rice is. I feel like if you're drinking hot sake you can get by with the cheap stuff. Sho Chiku Bai or Gekkeikan or whatever you have around. If you're drinking cold I would look for a junmai daiginjo; it's the highest grade and tends to have a clean, delicate flavor, and they're not necessarily terribly expensive. The best sake I've ever had personally (IMO of course, and I am not a connoisseur) was Dassai Blue Type 35, which is actually made in New York from US-grown Japanese rice. The half-size bottle I got cost me around $20; that was about a year ago.
