Has anyone in the comment section ever eaten snake before? If you have, is it good? I have had gator and man does that meat soak of flavor!

Seeing Maomao reunite with Loulan/Shisui was a lovely moment and I felt happy for a moment before learning of the horrors that took place.

I want to believe that Loulan/Shisui has an identity crisis. We saw in the moment before the door was opened to the "sleeping" children that she responded differently being called Shisui.

Loulan is empty and heartless. She killed those killed even if she said it was a mercy killing.

Shisui wouldn't have done this.

I dunno, would you rather the children be slaughtered by the imperial soldiers or get a peaceful sleep? This is a fictional imperial China where they kill the entire clan for rebellion. I think it was a mercy.

I think you're correct, Loulan knew that the whole clan will be executed for treason and poison is the least painful for the children. Also, don't be eating any bagged lettuce.

CINEMA!....just that. Suirei's mother was the actual Emperor half sister, so she is his niece. Loulan/Shisui is a hell of a character. Masterful writing.

So, first, about the family tree, if we believe what Maomao thought and the rumor, the reality would be : - The late emperor had a daugter first, with Taihou, the lady in waiting of Shenmei. Then this daugter, the lost princess, become the wife of Shisou and together they had Suirei (named Shisui at first) - The late emperor had a son with Anshi when she was a kid, he become the current emperor. - The late emperor had a second son with Anshi (the prince), who was swaped with the son of the current emperor and Ah-Duo and he is now dead because of the honey incident. - The current emperor had a son with Ah-Duo who was swaped with the prince (now dead) and he become the "emperor's bother" and Jinshi. So that would make Suirei, the niece of the current emperor and Jinshi's cousin. Now, about Shisui/Loulan, it isn't that she had an identity crisis, it's more like she was happy that Maomao finally call her Shisui, even if she is "Loulan" right now, because Loulan is fake, but Shisui is who she is really, and Maomao calling her that, mean that Maomao recognise that. Shisui is really kind, maybe the kindest person in the whole stronghold, but because of "Loulan" she can't do all she want to express it sadly. Continuing getting beaten by her mother to still be here for her sister, liying about Maomao age to save her once, suggesting the taibon because she knew Maomao would manage, all that are act of Kindness for the persons she care, heck, even for the workers of the stronghold, she gave them silver and tell them to run to have a possibilities of surviving, she also cared about the kids and knew they would be executed, so she thought of someting, of what she could do with the limitation of her power... I will just say, don't hate her now, wait until the end of the story, we know how it turned for Lakan in season 1, a full story can change the opinion on someone. Also for you question, I didn't have snake, but I tasted some insects, a cockchafer to be precise, not bad, but really dry.
