The level of obsession I sense from Uika is a quite uncomfortable, right? Is it just me that thinks this, or does everyone else feel this way?

I feel happy for Mistumi and Mortis. I feel like She was able to work through their (her?) feelings towards one another, realizing that the project that Mutsumi and Sakiko were a part of would make one another happy.

...also...what was with grandpa? Why did he call Uika "Hatsune?"

Awesome nails. Simple and pretty. Looks like the wedding was fun. Couldn't say anything about Mutsumortis coz this episode is important... ^____^ It was Nyamu who clocked it first that it wasn't Mutsumi but Mortis, then Sakiko saw right through her coz she was repeating the same dialogue. Sakiko takes one step forward and jumps 5 steps back with how she communicates with people. Miniature culty band is pretty accurate. Funny thing is that Saki formed Crychic then left coz she can't continue and everyone in that band was mostly torn asunder, figuratively, and want her back. With Ave Mujica, everyone wants her back too, but this time she doesn't want to, until Nyamu threw Sakiko's words in the beginning of the series back into her face. "Ave Mujica is all that I have". Can't spoil Uika but more about her next episode. She's secretly Hatsune Miku... (Jk) In other related news, you gottttttaaaa hear Ave Mujica's cover of Lady Gaga's Abracadabra... It's their promotional song for the launch of Bang Dream Our Notes Global Server. 2 days ago I want to throw all my devices up a wall because the song's Expert beat map is annoyingly hard. But slowly improving. Hoping to get a full combo soon (crosses fingers)

This is one of my favourite episodes, it's conclusion of the MutsuMortis story and the beginning of Uika's. The opening scene of this episode is Mana (the other half of Sumimi) being beheaded while Minami Mori (playing her mother) looks on all while Nyamu is watching; a metaphor perhaps. What exactly happend to Mutsumortis can be confusing but according to the director (and backed up in the post anime stories from the new game) is that Mutsumi and Mortis haven't merged but have died and become one of many roles the system known as Mutsumi can take (back to how they were before CRYCHIC). Now she's no longer afraid of death. This episodes title means I hate and I love and Nyamu is no longer afraid of love. (And similarly Umiri is no longer afraid of fear). Sakiko is confronted by Nyamu and the rest of Mujica throwing what she said back in her face and she is trapped in a birdcage of her own creation. As a side note she ties them back to her with something similar to a marriage vow which is still wild everything I watch it. The first song is Imprisoned XII (12 presumable coming from tarot and the 12th tarot is the hanged man, rather fitting). The other song is Crucifix X, read as Crucifix kiss with 10 being the wheel of fortune, also fitting.

I was going to add, the Our Notes mentioned, just launched, and it's part of the overall Bang Dream 'project', built around MyGo and AM, as well as 3 other bands (one just had their show this summer and 2 that just exist for now in game but will have full IRL releases and live debuts before the end of the year). One part of the game is, they actually retell the MyGo/AM stories, with all new animation and voice acting. But also, they will extend some of the story in that way, so it will be considered cannon. It doesn't look like it will be significant - but it will exist in the canon. And as a song, Abracadabra is pretty awesome hard rock version, and Rico sings in all English very well.

2026-10-02 13:00 This was such a good 'pressure release' episode. And yes, can we just get Soyo legal custody of Mitsumi already? She seems to want to care for that girl more than anyone else on the planet. I thought the Mitsumi stuff was really well done, as a sort-of resolution that works. First, it's amazing the writers were able to keep this all in balance. Mortis is a great stage actor, and even a descent one-one manipulator. But 'acting' as a human when relating to other people otherwise, she's pretty cringey. Love the 'oh wait, that take didn't work, let's try another' thing when Nyamu called her out. In terms of the resolution - I see it as, we've now 'unstuck' Guitar Mitsumi from the stage, and when Mortis sacrifices themselves with her, I see it kind of as them then joining 'the audience' of other Mitsumi personas. So in a way, Mortis kind of got what she wanted - because after she leaves, then the alter Mitsumi-chan can do her guitar thing. And when she stops playing, since she can't really handle the other 'life' stuff, another persona will step in. I think this episode also shows the pattern of Sakiko's true fault. She loves to try to be the leader 'in charge', with a 'master plan'. And she will work herself to the bone for others in accordance. The trouble happens when something goes wrong with 'the plan' - and because 'Sakiko Life', of COURSE it does, then she can't mentally deal with it and and will check out. Hard - just as hard as she was willing to work toward the goal in the first place. Luckily, it seems that if you can literally confront her about it - Soyo dragging her to Mitsumi's house, then Nyamu barging in and throwing her 'I'm making a cult, come join me' premise right in her face. Then Saki gets back on track, and is just as committed as when she quit. She only knows how to go hard for something. LOL. And btw - it was on the call Nyamu got from her Mom that we learned her name means young wheat, that grows stronger when stomped on, which was her pep-talk to her. But I so love her - where *everyone* else tries to 'Put on airs', as they say in the south, Nyamu has the bull-shit meter ready to call anyone out. As an aside - Nyamu's entire 'I hate that she has natural talent I don't have and I can't avoid noticing it, I hate/love her.' thing - yeah when Soyo gets her therapist cert, Sakiko needs to send her entire band to her. LOL

First, it's amazing the writers were able to keep this all in balance. And using the song to 'show' the resolution was creative and inspired. It seems like they've mostly showed Mutsumi's internal 'wake up' through music, so it was thematically consistent. Well done all around. And with the music - have to say I also love the organ. She is using a Roland VR-730 for the organ, and I have the VR-09, which is the same thing except with 61 spring keys, while the 730 has a 73 note semi-weighted waterfall kb. Great thing is has a 'digital tone wheel' engine that reproduces old analog tone wheel organs and rotary speaker systems (ie, vintage Hammond B-3). Even has drawbars that you can set the individual stops. They use it so well in the AM songs, the arrangements sound great for that. Didn’t comment last week as was too concerned about inadvertent spoilers. Was hoping for a “who the f*** is Hatsune?” 😆🤣 but the flat out confusion was almost as good. Secrets - yes… Oh and I’d have 100% requested a reaction to Crucifix X (the one with the moonlight sonata opening) if I didn’t know you’d be hearing it in full in the show.

JintheCasualChubster

Ohhh I like how you described how Sakiko deals with things... I haven't really thought of it that way. So in my simple wording Sakiko is either all in or all out, until someone knocks some good sense into her. Still mildly annoyed at her though. Do you know how difficult it is to draw her frickin hair...

findle

Yeah and the worst part is, she expects everyone to read her mind to know what she's thinking, and she lashes out at them when they can't.

findle

Yeah this is how I read what happened. The funny thing is, Mortis, by sacrificing herself actually got what she wanted all along - for Mutsumi-chan to play with AM again. But now when she's done playing, Guitar Mitsumi can 'leave' and let another alter step in and do the other 'life' stuff.
