Welcome back to The Annex! A fun thing about this place is that it truly contains multitudes. At one point in its illustrious and storied history, The Annex was one of the world's only facilities that housed both a chrono-temporal displacement device, and an ice hockey rink.

Unfortunately, it turns out that ice hockey rinks are pretty difficult to maintain. Surprisingly, more difficult than a time machine -- unless said time machine becomes water logged from the melted remains of a poorly-serviced ice hockey rink on the floor above it.

We now call this floor "WET". And on our second visit to The Annex, Seth is going to take us there to further understand the delicate equilibrium of wetness required not just of athletes, but of us all.

YES another Annex. I cannot wait to put this in my ear holes

Cristina Almaraz

The pop up notification of simply "WET" is already hilarious 😂 Y'all weren't kidding about the silliness, you absolutely love to see it

Saint Rocket

Okay, maybe lay off the funny voices next time. I couldn't understand a damn word the Philosopher was saying.

Adam Foote

Somehow I switched Tennis and Playground ball, so 3/5 in the bucket game

dan holton

it’s all just a little too meta

Secret Base

the playground ball was obvious after realizing it, but took a few listens before it really clicked -will

pizzaboy7296

I hated the wet walking noises. Thank you for subjecting me to it.

CJ Barrett

I’ve never been so proud of getting sounds of dropped balls right

The peeing-on-camera happens in disc golf coverage occasionally as well.

Nick A

#4 was definitely a hockey puck

Azn

In walker's defense the peeing into some towels or old clothes is a tried and true method if you're like 10 or 11.

supercres

it definitely had some “poing” to it, even in water

Lachie Wappet

nah mate just get good at listening. it's what the philosopher decrees 🧐

Lachie Wappet

this podcast is perfect, please keep doing it juuust like this. right there. it's a small zone, but you're scratching that itch

JW

I'm gonna have to disagree with the philosopher here. While oil wrestling is certainly among our most *slippery* sports, it cannot, in my view, be classified as "wet." Wetness implies a water or water-based fluid. Olive oil is a fat. The sensation which The Philosopher is describing is not wetness, but greasiness, the lipid-based cousin of wetness.

Remember when Jon was dragging Kirk Cousins for his pictures of the blandest steaks in the world? Pot of the past, meet kettle of the future.

Jonathan Krone

Want to be clear that magic and Yu-Gi-Oh players were not being stinky on purpose as a strategy to win, they're just gross!

Bobby Dubs

Yes!! Lots of nerd-coded events are blighted with unhygienic contestants and attendees, its genuinely foul.

skrrt vonnegut

Is the tarp directly on the ice? no, it's overtarp of it.

Gwen Horáků

You guys are are knocking it out the park with this Patreon feed. May you never become unexpectedly wet ever again.

KeegoTheWise

the recent lake tahoe outdoor nhl game is proof that we learned nothing in the way of not holding hockey games where nature doesn’t want them

To explain the Yugioh one: There's a card where it forces you to handshake your opponent or the game couldn't continue. So people would play the game whilst being as disgusting as possible, so people would refuse. Konami, the company behind YuGiOh, had to make a ruling for hygiene and another that the card in question could be a 'metaphorical' handshake rather than literal one.
