I will admit, I didn't love the whole stuck in a lie about their relationship storyline but they didn't have a lot of options, tell the complete truth poses the biggest problem because they would know she lied when being interviewed by IA in the previous episode, which could get Lucy or both of them fired. They could still lie about their relationship and say they only slept together the one time, but that would cause the problem, probably even worse honestly, that they were trying to avoid by breaking up in the first place of her career advancement and the way she is treated at work being negatively impacted, Nolan would be fine but her not so much. Finally they try to say she was just over at 1am to talk to him, but they would probably still think that's a lie and rumors would happen that would still negatively impact her career. So they were kind of stuck, the officers I watched react to this show were also annoyed by the storyline, but did point out the issue of her lying in her interview, they also got a bit annoyed with the IA investigator aka Jackson's dad in the episode, especially when he was talking about the whole, shower was wet but you weren't part. This was a great episode, great reaction and I look forward to the next one.
