I really liked this movie and Emily is always so cute, but I think they downplayed what Miranda/Meryl can be. I don't remember where I heard it, but someone or some video said that when it comes to a sequel there are two ways of making it really good. Either you can work on a new story to develop previous storylines or characters or to deliver a new message (Shrek 2, Puss in Boots The Last Wish, Dark Knight trilogy) or you can pander to the fans and give them something they really like with Easter eggs and callbacks all over it so fans can point and say 'oh, I remember that from the old movie, I remember that from the TV show' and those can be good too. (It kind of goes in both ways of thinking but Spider Man No Way Home, where they bring back Maguire and Garfield) This is definitely aiming to be in the latter. When you think about it that way, some of its faults can disappear slightly because you give it grace with how believable things are because I remember this character or I remember that character. Do I think it's needed? No. Do I think it's fun? Yes. Do I think Practical Magic 2 is needed? No, but it's coming out in a few months ;)
