Not sure if you picked up on it, but the deposition that Mel is worried about is the measles case from season 1 where they wanted to do the spinal tap but the mom wouldn't let them. The dad had lied and said the mom caved so they did the tap and the mom freaked out when she walked in. Now the mom is claiming stinted intellectual development because of the tap, but Dr Ellis tells Dr King (in her "this is not a discussion it's a monolog" moment) that it was the moms refusal to let them treat the son that caused reduced oxygen to the brain.
