I will say you missed some details in this episode and forgot about some things from the season, the significance of the cup Madison spit in, is that Dick intended to drug his girlfriend, Madison, which is messed up on it's own, so he put the drug in her drink, she then spit in it and handed it to Veronica, thus drugging Veronica. That's why that was important. Also, Veronica found her mom awhile ago and put her in rehab, so this isn't the mom showing up for the first time out of nowhere after being gone all season, it's her showing up from rehab. Also while the situation has become much more complicated, to say Veronica was not raped, is not entirely correct. She and has it turns out Duncan were given GHB, it is strong, you might appear to be functioning, but your not, your not able to process reality, decision making or be able to make any choices or consent to anything. So there was no consent from either of them, also since you were both saying Veronica should just stop drinking, she can't, she had no decision making abilities. It is a very complicated situation, that has been debated a lot, some do think Duncan is wrong or raped her, because he remembers details, which means he had some cognitive abilities, some say, no, because he was given GHB to, so if you say that, then that means they raped each other, others say, and this is the more common believe, Veronica was raped but Duncan is not a rapist. So as I said this is a complicated episode, also Duncan does have a lot of mental health issues and is currently not taking his medication, as the episode showed with his mother trying to get him to take his pills and his response of not on an empty stomach, hence the car smashing. I thought this episode was well done, but complicated, I liked that they brought a lot of the characters back from throughout the season, they did give a lot of information and like any mystery, information we learn can change our perspectives on a person, hence the back and forth with Logan, that doesn't mean bad writing, it means new information. Also, that acting when she was confronting Duncan was great from both of them, this episode probably contained the best acting from Duncan.
