I like this episode. It's a good one to add to a Hallowe'en playlist. They do a great job of the creepy factor, and now that JRabbit mentioned it during the episode, the fact that the Doctor is also scared on this one is probably what elevates that for us the audience. Great acting by Dougray Scott and Jessica Raine. She was amazing as Verity Lambert in An Adventure in Space and Time, and she has great chemistry with Dougray Scott here. Oh, I almost forgot, I'm a real fan when the Tardis gets to play a role in the story, so I liked how the Tardis hasn't been so sure about Clara up until now, but maybe since they saved the Doctor together they can both play nice with each other moving forward lol.

I think that because The Doctor is so focused on figuring out the mystery of Clara, it allows her insight into him that others don't often get because his guard is down. Her whole thing about him seeing everyone as ghosts is incisive and sharp but he doesn't really seem to clock it that much. When he talks about it being a love story, I thought he was worried about a Martha situation and didn't want to give Clara the wrong idea, which works perfectly with your thought of River. Random thought for the day: How has Tim Burton not swooped up Jenna Coleman to make into one of his pale, big-eyed, dark-haired beauty icons?
