What do you all think? There's an issue with the sub-title obviously and I have requested a sword be added. And I need to do some research on the name (current name is a placeholder).

Does this scream cultivation novel? Or hell, does it scream 'interesting enough to pick up' if you saw it? This is relatively early in the production, so a lot can still be changed. But I do want feedback because well, you guys are the readers.

I really like the cover. It's unique and gives a cool vibe.

I really like the cover as well, its elegant and simple, but its not quite at the level where I would have picked up the book based on the cover alone. Made me read the blurb for sure, but not all the way. I feel the cover lacks some indication that the novel follows the personal journey of a swordfighting cultivator, that there will be fighting. The addition of a sword is going to help, especially if he is drawing it/in a stance.

i like it as i read cultivation books so to me it screams cultivation

Yeah, we (me and a couple of other authors I trust) had a chat about it and we came to pretty much the same conclusion. It's pretty - but it doesn't have an 'instant buy' thing to it. It's pretty but not outstanding. So, we're going to change a few things and see how it works.

I think it is beautifully stylized, and I like that about it. I read a lot of books, so I’m not great at giving feedback for this sort of thing, but will say that the suggestions above probably will help. On the flip side... I really like this art, having read what we have. But since a cover is about getting people to open a book, dunno how good this is at doing.

Is it really a litrpg? I mean so far I have not seen a status screen or am I misinformed what matters to a llitrpg?

Tao Wong

It's not. My cover artist is too used to doing my litrpg books and added it since I hadn't given much direction in terms of title (since I have yet to decide on one). I've asked her to remove it.

Thanks. I've seen the latest update, it's actually I think a lot better with the dynamic, posed fighter. Looking forward to seeing more changes.

I have to say I think the cover is bland. There is no action/adventure feeling. The age of the character is too vague to say coming of age. Background is blah. Dose anyone look at this cover and think I want to visit this location? I want to journey with this character as he grows, battles beasts, and overcomes adversity?

Tao Wong

Interesting. I agree with the fact that there's no dynamism to the cover which is what we're working to add. That's the first comment on the background though, which is interesting. Thank you for the insight. We're back reworking bits and pieces to make it jump out more and the new figure for the character I think helps a lot.

It will take something more to convince some one who never read one of your books to get this one. I read almost all you publish on Amazon and was looking on you here, but i just ignored the cultivation story till today because i had no idea what is about, i just finished what you posted and realy enjoyed it! So yea you need to stick out a bit more, maybe a very good book description? Dont know, good luck on it. Ps i will definatly buy it😁

Tao Wong

Thanks. And I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wanted to try my hands at the style, though I still have some deep reservations about writing it. There's a culture & style to it that I'm pretty sure I missed to some extent. But, I also don't want to write a 'proper' cultivation novel anyway. Hopefully the next iteration of the cover does better. And hopefully, I get to drag a bunch of new readers into my various series. :)
