The apocalypse has never looked so '80s!

Join me for my first-time reaction to Night of the Comet (1984), a cult classic that perfectly blends horror, science fiction, comedy, and post-apocalyptic adventure. I went into this movie with no idea what to expect, and it turned out to be such a fun ride filled with memorable characters, creepy moments, and plenty of retro charm.

From deserted city streets to mysterious survivors and unexpected laughs, this movie had me smiling, theorizing, and wondering what would happen next.

It was interesting to hear you compare this to The Walking Dead. I saw this movie way back in the day, when there was no Walking Dead baseline for comparing zombie stories, and there were no zombie comedies like Zombieland or Shawn of the Dead. I guess now that we have all those, Night of the Comet is less "one of a kind." But I still think the little sister is hilarious. "Dolores and I had it out once and for all again" -- I continue to use variations of that joke once or twice a year.
