Hospitals are already unsettling enough, but Sunnydale somehow makes them even worse.

In Season 2, Episode 18, “Killed by Death,” Buffy collapses with a severe case of the flu and is admitted to the hospital. While recovering, she begins seeing a horrifying creature stalking the children’s ward—a demon that only sick people can see and that may be connected to a painful memory from Buffy’s childhood.

This episode was creepy, emotional, and surprisingly dark. Der Kindestod is easily one of the most disturbing monsters we’ve encountered so far, and watching Buffy deliberately put herself at risk to protect the children showed exactly what kind of hero she is.

As always, this is my first-time reaction, so you’ll get all of my genuine fear, theories, commentary, and emotional moments throughout the episode.
