Today I’m watching Take This Waltz—a complicated, intimate story about marriage, temptation, longing, and the dangerous belief that something new will automatically make us happier.

Margot appears to have a loving but imperfect marriage with Lou, yet she finds herself intensely drawn to their charming neighbor, Daniel. As that attraction grows, she must decide whether to protect the life she already has or risk everything chasing the excitement she thinks she is missing.

This movie gave me so many conflicting emotions! Nobody feels completely innocent or completely wrong, and it raises some uncomfortable questions about desire, commitment, routine, and whether happiness can ever come from another person.
