I really like how Magic the Gathering uses it's color wheel to influence it's artistic and gameplay design. I wanted a similar wheel for LLO. the previous version I made only had four energies, but that felt limiting, five would feel too much like magic the gathering, so I ended up with 6.

Each energy type has its own themes;

Dawn: New starts, light, holy

Primal: nature, animals, people, eternal cycles

Ore: earth, un-moving consistency,

Dusk: endings, night, natural death

Demon: unnatural, undeath, chaos

Aether: magic, change, knowledge

If any of you have any suggestions to add more to these concepts, I am all ears. But also what do you think of these concepts?

Poll answers include;

I really like them and feel like they will add to LLO

I like them, but feel like they won't add much to LLO

Nuetral

I don't like them

I don't understand

The funny thing is that you could have used the Sage Medallions on this.

LurkerGG

right, might be something worth looking into.

Too cool! I loved MTG

Not meant as an insult. I think you have the right idea, but I believe the 'colors' are already pretty much set in the mythos already. Via the Sage Medallions and then how those very medallions are emphasized in later parts. As an example, Shadow/Undeath carries an interesting affinity with what would be the earth element, as in both Ocarina and Wind there are obvious allusions to the Sheikah in both the Shadow and the Earth Temples, while Primal would have allusions to wind and life (The Wind and Forest temples, which interestingly showed signs of corruption in the undead inhabitants.) Sorry for the potential rant. I'm just being persnickety.

This kind of thing is what I was hoping to get. I actually am a little lost on what direction to take this. I started with the MTG colors but have not liked any of the alterations I have made to them. This might be a good thing to mix in there.

It's actually kind of funny, because in the Four Swords Saga, Earth actually is the purple element, which kind of helps to cement the whole 'for dust thou art, and dust thou shalt return' connection. Probably not the time or place, but since I'm thinking of it, here's the sage medallions in story order and coloration: Light: Yellow Forest: Green Fire: Red Water: Blue Shadow: Purple Spirit: Orange I find it amusing that the symbol of the Spirit is all about dualities, two opposing attributes locked in an endless cycle, matching the Sister Witches and also later referenced as part of Ganondorf's Ambition: 'My country lay in a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing... Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose." And ever and on the cycle of gods and demons and the humans between continues...
