Week Overview! (Patreon)

The final week of the month has arrived once again. Let’s take a quick look at what we’ve accomplished so far.
Dungeon ExplorersI’ve been working bit by bit, without rushing, on the Steam version of DUEX. I added a new character, fixed a few things, like improving the hints on how to progress in the story, and made the Seer’s tips more intuitive and better organized. When it launches on Steam, I’ll release it here for supporters too. I’m just not sure if it’ll remain in the Silver Tier, as I need to study Steam’s rules about game distribution inside and outside their store. From what I understand, the price outside can’t be lower than on Steam, so I might move Dungeon Explorers to the Gold Tier.
I haven’t done much with Dungeon Explorers 2 or Peasant Dream Ascension lately, just small things, and a lot of planning for DUEX 2 about the story and game design. My focus has been on the current updates and the Steam release.
Prayers of Distorted MindsWe had a surprise Easter update, v0.6! The poll is still ongoing, so if you haven’t voted yet for your favorite girl to get her next date events, make sure you do!
I also spent quite some time optimizing and compressing the game to make it lighter and fix everything that could potentially break in the browser version, but I did it! We now have a beautiful, smooth, delicious web version! Saving works perfectly too, so no worries. Pure joy!
Lukestria FamilyThis month my main focus was on LUFA. I ended up changing my plans for this update twice along the way, all to keep the story as fun and engaging as possible without getting too heavy. I added map exploration and Stage challenges to balance the RPG gameplay with the visual novel style. Go and enjoy the v0.5 update!
My original plan was to finish Lukestria Family in May, but that’s not going to happen anymore. Since that was just a personal goal, it won’t have a major impact, just a night of wine and self-blame over my poor time estimates. I don’t want to rush anything; I want to do my best now, while I still can’t afford to do even better.
GeneralAs some of you know from my recent post, I had an unfortunate incident at the end of the month—my SSD died. Thankfully, I managed to recover my files, though a few came back corrupted. Luckily, I learned my lesson from a similar issue last year, so this time I had a backup from just a few days earlier. I’ve been using that to replace any corrupted files I’ve found so far.
I’ll need to go through all five of my games, playing and checking everything to make sure it's all working, and replace, fix, or remake anything that's broken. It’s going to be a lot of work given the number of files, but I estimate I can finish my analysis and testing in about two weeks. Then, I’ll be able to work on a smaller-than-usual update for May.
Aside from this unfortunate incident, the rest of the month was pure joy, and since the biggest problem has already been dealt with, we’re back to that happy and grateful mindset. With God’s blessing, we keep moving forward—me and you—on this journey of fun and adventure.
This month, on April 5th, C.M.Cas Games turned 1 year old! Yay!It honestly feels like it hasn’t been that long since I started learning how to make games. After a year as a dev, I’m still a rookie—but when I look back, I can clearly see how much I’ve improved since the beginning. And I know I’ll keep getting even better!
Thank YouThank you to all my supporters, you are my strength. Let’s keep going together! If you’re not yet part of our Brotherhood, don’t waste time, join us on this journey! And don’t forget to check out Dungeon Explorers on Steam. If you like it, add it to your wishlist!
Now I’m off to drink some lemon-honey tea and take a warm shower, then get back to working on the games. We’re in this together!Wishing you all a blessed week and a great night.
Have fun~~
