Hey, brothers!Your Dungeon Master here!
The progress on this “final” update is going smoothly. I got stuck for a bit near the ending, wondering if I should add more action, one more climax, a big TCHAN. But in the end, I decided not to. LUFA was never a game about shootouts or war. Mafia intrigue happens quietly, no adrenaline, no noise, no drawing attention. So I’m keeping the same rhythm: plots resolved with discreet, precise actions.
This Saturday I’ll be doing a full beta test of the entire Your Territory area to make sure everything’s running well, and on Sunday I’ll focus on organizing the story events that are already done, checking their pacing, and testing through them.
This week I finished all the hospital story events, created new city locations, a new stage, new enemies, characters, music, and more. In short, only two events remain before the story is fully wrapped up. After that, I’ll work on the credits and the “post-credits” scenes showing the consequences of the key decisions you made in the game. And then… that’s it. The game is finished.
As some of you already know, I’ve created LUFA’s Steam page, but the Steam version will only come out next year. I’ve already reworked a few scenes, improved some things, cleaned up others. And yes, some of you have seen the AMV I made with animated H-scenes from LUFA. That’s me still experimenting with animation tools, looking for safe, commercial, on-demand solutions.“Will LUFA be animated?!”No. These animation tests are aimed at DUEX 2 and my future games.
As the year comes to an end, I can say that looking back, I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. I started making games in April of last year, working in my free time after my day job. Before that, my hobby was writing books and scripts — I’ve published more than 50 books, and I have several scripts written that were never produced. But I’ve always wanted to create something people could interact with. Ever since I was a kid I did that, which is why I’m also an RPG Master.
I know a lot of people still feel unsure about AI, but thanks to it I’ve finally been able to let people not only read my stories, but live inside them, influence them, become part of the world, people from all over the world enjoying it together! That’s incredible.
Looking back at my first game, the very first time I touched RPG Maker, Peasant Dream Ascension, I’ve improved a lot. Many people compare it to DUEX and find it strange that PDA is so much shorter and simpler, but that’s exactly why: PDA was the game where I learned how RPG Maker works. Dungeon Explorer was my second game, already more focused on actually making a proper game, not just an experiment. When I look at Prayers of Distorted Minds and at LUFA itself, I can clearly see how much I’ve grown in just a bit over one year as a solo indie dev.
I’m sure I’ll keep improving more and more, bringing you even better and more fun games. You are my strength. We’re in this together — let’s go!
