MOSTLY ROUTINE by Cindi Curtis

It’s been one of those steady, ordinary days where even the unexpected feels routine. A couple of small hiccups in the morning’s code review, a few emails that needed rewording, and one Teams meeting that ran long—but all in all, it’s been productive and calm. I’m grateful for that kind of day.

Work lately has felt balanced—no huge wins, no major stress, just consistency. And maybe that’s exactly what I need right now: time to breathe, focus, and let normalcy be its own kind of healing.

I keep catching myself smiling when I think about Thanksgiving. I still can’t quite believe I made that call to Michael. The nerves have faded into excitement, and I’ve found myself counting down the days—again!

Outside of work, I’ve been rethinking how I use energy around the house. One small step I’m taking this week is in the bathroom—swapping disposable cotton pads for reusable bamboo rounds. They wash easily, last for years, and cut down on waste. It’s a simple change, but over time it really adds up.

This afternoon’s devotional was from Luke 16:10—“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”

That verse reminds me that stewardship starts small: with how I treat my time, my words, my relationships, and even the little spaces I inhabit. If I can be faithful in the quiet, unseen parts of life, I’ll be ready when the bigger moments come.

May your afternoon be productive, peaceful, and purposeful. Keep tending to the small things—they matter more than we think.
