Good Morning
I’ve been up long enough to make a quick pass through the bathroom, get to the kitchen and put the Keurig to work for my first cup of coffee (not pictured), and pilfer a blanket for a good morning selfie. Call it seven minutes? Ten maybe!
Monday has come! First thing I’ll do is send all the proofs to the sea salt client. I already sent a few to Naomi Prior, my agent who connected us to the client. She said they looked like the job description!
I do need to focus on some writing today. Between this and that is a shower and picking out something to wear—which sometimes feels like a huge bother, leading me to just grabbing what’s right in front of me.
I also need to schedule a mover for Dad and Grammy. I feel like I can get something lined up for later this week. Dad took Grammy over to the new house on Red Snapper and let her get her ideas together about where she wants what. They’ve been packing things that aren’t essential, and have a lot ready to go.
We’ll probably use the Highlander and Dad’s truck to move some boxes in advance of the movers. Save a few bucks and time!
I’ll be back later for a midday check-in, so see you then!

Working Away
I’m actually getting a lot done today. I know, it looks like I’m sitting on the sofa, and I am! But I moved here for the selfie.
By the way… Even though I use the remote shutter release, I ALSO use the self-timer set for five seconds. That way, I can release the shutter and get the remote out of the image.
There’s your pro-tip for the day!
So far today…
• Moving van scheduled for Friday. Good thing! The forecast for Saturday calls for scattered thunderstorms. Of course forecasts change, so… we’ll see.
• Proofs sent to the sea salt company.
• Ghost-writing going well. Knocked out a fresh chapter and also edited an earlier draft.
• As for writing, which goes hand in hand with reading, I’m thinking about going over to Brownsville and volunteering some time with a literacy program. This is one of the things I do from time to time because adults being able to read effectively is so important.
Next up, I’m dropping in on Jason and Josh to see what they are working on, and compelling one of them to make lunch for everyone. (I don’t care which one!)
I’ll be back tonight… I’m planning on a quick and easy dinner, then heading to the beach to say goodnight.
See you then!
Let’s Meet by Sasha Baek-Everett
This post is being duplicated in the Living The Dream collection where Jasmine's earlier posts have been shared.
Jasmine Banks called. She’s the girl that called when I was going through TSA at the airport, then when I was out to sea on “Savannah’s Charm.” Today, I was sitting on my sofa!
“Do you have time to talk today?” Jasmine asked.
“I do. Thanks for calling back. Did you get my text?”
“I did. Thank you.” She sounded a little scared. “I can call later if there’s a better time.”
“Now’s fine. So you said you heard about SwimFit?”
“I saw posts on IG about it. You were out testing swimsuits.”
She went on to mention the posts of us out in “Imagine What” the few times we’ve had suits to try out. She also mentioned reading about us helping Kirina Yung get her sailboat back to the marina.
“When Geoni mentioned you needed models…” Jasmine’s voice trailed off. “Well, I could do anything. I got my CNA degree, but I don’t have the money to start an RN program right now. Me and my husband get by okay, but we don’t think student loans are right, just yet. I could take any sort of job.”
She went on to say she read about the lotion shoot and how someone had to do various things throughout the shoot. “Like where someone had to brush the sand off the model ever time she changed locations and got situated.”
Now, I’ve never actually hired anyone. Once, I did project manage a big HR system overhaul at a warehouse complex, so maybe that counts. So, I’m not sure it was an interview.
But something clicked between Jasmine and me. She’s only 20—eight years younger than I am—but within a few minutes, she seemed to relax and I felt like I was talking to a sister I never had. (I’m an only child and my parents died in 2021—At some point, I should just info-dump my life story, but not now.)
We ended up talking for over an hour. Suffice to say, I’m eager to meet her when (she’s calling back after talking to her husband and checking her work schedule).
I didn’t offer her the job, but I told her she was the only person we’ve talked to about it—and it was her first call that even planted the idea.
So, watch for more on this!
Good Night
Made it to the beach! The temperature hit around 82°F today. That’s around 28°C and I’m very happy I can remember that without looking it up! (82 → 28 / reverse the numbers!)
Running the camera tonight is Jason. It’s my regular camera. I’m experimenting with a new model, though. The pictures Jason and Geoni are getting with theirs… probably going to switch back and forth between the ones I’ve used all along and the new one.
Okay… Sasha crashed my condo to tell me about her call with Jasmine Banks. Sasha gets excited sometimes. And she’s always a careful thinker. Combining those into this context… Based on what I saw this afternoon, SwimFit and AGI Stories are about to have a new Project Assistant.
We haven’t relied on titles much, but everyone sort of thinks of Sasha as Project Manager or better, Project Director. Based on what Sasha had to say, it looks like Jasmine will be coming on board to report to/work with Sasha.
Sasha and I are going to go meet her on Thursday.
Honestly, I’m pretty excited. Since SwimFit was born, she’s stayed busy! This will make things a little easier.
And you know how it goes—if you have the time, you use it. I’d bet that AGI Stories sees more work like the sea salt and lotion projects!
And you know me… Just leave me some days that I can use to do some volunteer work, and everything else is great!
And as for volunteering… I am, as I said, going to get in a day doing some literacy work. That will happen tomorrow. I’ll tell you about it (and bore you with some statistics probably!) tomorrow.
For now, I’ll bring the day to an end.
May you find things you didn’t know you needed in places you didn’t expect to search, may your outcomes exceed your expectations, and may peace and joy fill your every moment.
Good night.
Be your best you!
