MERRY MEMPHIS CHRISTMAS by Cindi Curtis

It’s the second day of winter, and Memphis is going to see temps up to 69°F. It’s about 30° colder back home.

Erm… back at my old home. The moving idea is still going forward!

Mom has a friend who has a friend who is a realtor. “So, last summer, June’s friend, Carol, called saying she had lots of calls about houses from people looking for retirement homes or vacation homes. She was interested in yours. I told her it wasn’t available. Well, I called her and she’s very interested!”

Meanwhile in Shelby County, Tennessee…

Michael has been showing me things comparably priced to what my Woodland Park property is valued at. OMG! Mansions!

I’ve sort of settled on the Bartlett area. Homes there are only 50 to 70 percent of what I should get from selling mine in Woodland Park.

That lets me breathe a lot easier!

I’m definitely not putting a timetable on this, but a vague “probably should” would be a lease with a buy option (when the Colorado house sells) early next month. Michael and I are on Zillow right now.

He’s totally swamped with work, but says we can go to that part of town—which is where the Italian restaurant, Coletta’s, is—today and drive around.

Also, he’s saying something about Topps Bar-B-Q having a store there!

Well, it is the Christmas season. In case time keeps us from connecting, let me, on behalf of Michael and me, wish you a Merry Christmas.

Tomorrow night, Michael and I are exchanging gifts. Jordan, you may know, always has ideas she thinks will make things fun. She convinced us to get one serious gift and one gag-gift for each other.

I’m not sure either of us are inclined toward the gag-gift mentality, but we’re going to give it a try! Wish us luck!
