INEVITABLE? by Carter Ellis

Well, I wish I could say I had yesterday off. Not all of it. Michael, I think, worked all day. Jordan slept in to like 8:00 before getting back to work.

She forwarded me an email from that Dubai company with the contact information for yet another referral. A cousin’s wife’s something… a company in Oman. At first glance they run a data center called Gulf Horizons Data Services.

So while I was taking a shower, my thoughts drifted. A couple of things I’m thinking based on the last 96 hours or so.

Let’s go back to the New Year’s Eve party Jordan hosted. A gathering, really, but here’s what I noticed right off. She and I were the only not-couple in the room with two other are-couples. We talked about that privately.

I’m no expert but there’s a thing that happens when like-minded, like-valued, similarly-aged people are frequently together. Like at a party. I told her that if we kept doing that sort of thing, it would be inevitable that our relationship would develop.

I really meant that being so similar and frequently together greatly raises the probability that we’ll start having feelings for each other.

Her response? Something to the effect of she wouldn’t complain. And, honestly, neither would I, so there’s already a little something there.

The more important “inevitable” is that ClearStream has to do something or we will be too overloaded to keep going. A lot of money is coming in. A lot more, in the form of two big prospects, is still on the table. Roman made a referral that turns out to have been a big rock thrown into the pond, and the ripples are still going out.

Originally, he referred Al Thuraya Global Logistics in Dubai, and Michael landed that job. Roman also referred DesertGate Cloud & Compute in New Delhi, who reached out and said they’d sent an RFP to us at the beginning of the year. Which, you know, started yesterday!

I have an idea. I’ll get back to you soon.

FOOT DRAGGING? by Cindi Curtis

I have enjoyed working at Michael’s condo since I got here, but staying in my work clothes (for the Teams meetings) was a little bothersome. I’m not sure why, but I never thought—until today—to bring a change of clothes.

I will add that changing clothes here in his place felt… something. It was like the first time he fell asleep on FaceTime and for the next hour, he was just there with me. Presence. There was something quietly personal about that. The same for changing clothes in his bathroom. I guess that’s silly…

I’ve thought a lot about some things we talked about yesterday that weren’t on IG—let me reprise it:

I said, “Are we going too fast since I came to Memphis?”

Michael looked over. “Or are we just dragging our feet? Maybe we need to name the thing we’re both thinking about?”

“Name it?”

He smiled. “We both want to get married. Maybe this spring? Summer? Don’t answer on the spur of the moment… But we’re heading there, right?”

I nodded as I sort of melted into the seat.

He went on. “We’re coming up on a year of being together you know… I count those first comments! …Shopping for a ring is on the to-do list for January? Too soon?

“Not too soon, if you ask me.”

That has stuck with me since I said it. Since he said it. So, on top of house-hunting, January will have some ring-hunting going on too! Big plans!

When our plans align with God’s, good things happen!

Jeremiah 29:11—For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (NIV).

As far as we can tell, our plans align.

Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:

As 2026 arrives, I want to acknowledge just how much the support and encouragement from you means. In addition to the cost of creating the content, a lot of time and energy goes into it as well. Your likes, comments, questions, and encouraging remarks keep me going, even on days when I'm pulled in multiple directions all at once.

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.

Patreon members… You are covering a nice portion of that.

I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.

While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!

I believe I have found ways to give you more exclusive content, while still making the site meaningful to visitors and passersby.

Again, thank you very, very much.

INEVITABLE? by Carter Ellis. Jordan slept in all the way to 8:00 huh? I had to smile at that one. Yeah, Carter, I still think "likely" would have been a better word choice than "inevitable". There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. But I understand it just came out in the moment. Anyway, tooo late now. And she reacted...positively I think. But now that you have set a definite forward momentum...I admit I am curious about your next move. Both personally and professionally - your idea. Hard to believe you're an intern, but you almost certainly won't be after May 9. Have a good day, sir.

FOOT DRAGGING? by Cindi Curtis. Hello Cindi. Happy New Year! I don't think anybody is dragging their feet. You guys have had the strongest long-distance relationship I have ever seen. But it is still long distance. That was why I was so encouraged by him going there and you coming here. Proximity can change things, you know. Regarding changing clothes, you two, I think, are still learning to be in close proximity with each other. In your case, it is definitely for the better. I'm very happy for you. You said your plans were aligned. Having said that, I have to wonder about something else. Oh, thank you for the scripture, you always post a scripture that relates to your post. Nicely done! I have to wonder about something else in the wind... I think I need to wait and see if your friend Carter shares his idea before I broach something to you. Changing the subject, Al Thuraya Global Logistics is a world player. I'm very impressed ClearStream contracted with them. Thanks for including the bonus photo, Cindi. Hmmm. Michael really is blessed to have you.

Yes. I totally agree with you about the proximity. And your mom is completely right. My point was don't assume itis bound to happen. Yes, you and I both assume it will, but don't assume, and if and when it DOES happen, be sure not to take the opportunity for granted. as someone already said, Jordan is a firecracker! 😊.
