NOT WORKING by Jordan Warner
I am definitely not working. I just got out of bed—don’t hate me!—and I’m checking to see what Hayes sent from Dubai.
It’s later in the day there, and she promised to send some pictures when she woke up. I told her that, now, she has to do that again tomorrow, but make a post out of it! She said she’d think about it and try.
Carter and I are going to church today with Cindi and Michael. They have been visiting a church in Bartlett that they like, and we agreed to make the pilgrimage and go with them.
After church, the plan is to hit a place called Soul Fish for lunch. They have locations (at least in) Midtown and Germantown, but we’re going to the one in Wolfchase. Folks, growing up in the Memphis area, Carter and I agree that catfish from Soul Fish is pretty much quintessential!
By now you may realize that Carter is a planner/thinker type. You probably know that he comes here to work most days—Hayes and I have desks in our bedrooms and we put a desk in the den for Carter to use.
Looking past the Hayes-Roman wedding, Carter has asked how he and I will proceed working in the same location at the same time. We both hold ourselves to pretty high morals, and we’re aware of the challenges of sharing space by ourselves.
The idea of renting a small office space bubbled up, but Carter observed, “Being alone in a small office fundamentally wouldn’t be any different from being alone in your apartment. Aside from the furniture, that is…”
“And the expense would be real…” I added.
Off the table is taking our work to his house. He loves his parents, and his bonus room office works for him. But since both of them work, it wouldn’t solve the problem of us being alone.
Now, I’m sure some of you are eye-rolling over the fact that we care about this. Admittedly, we are different about “things like that” and we’re actually proud of it.
At some point later, we want to look back and know we honored what we said we believed.
You know… “Yes, we waited.” Something to tell our kids. (DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD?)
SUNDAY TOGETHER by Cindi Curtis
Michael and I are about to go into church. The service begins in half an hour, and we’re taking our time going in so I can process the crowd without building up too much anxiety.
I’ll spare you the “back a few years ago” and “look at me now” paragraph. You can probably guess what I’d say!
Growth has been steady, but this is what I’d call a big church, so I do have to prepare myself for what I consider a huge crowd of people. While it's far from a mega-church like some here in the Memphis area, it’s a lot bigger than the church back in Colorado Springs where I went with Mom and Dad.
Jordan and Carter are joining us today. It’s not at all close to where they live, but after church, the four of us are going to make a day of it starting with Soul Fish.
Michael has been to one of their locations a few times, and he says it’s amazing. Carter and Jordan, who grew up in the Memphis area, claim you don’t know catfish if you haven’t had Soul Fish.
I’ll close today’s post with just a Bible verse Michael and I talked about over coffee earlier. I’ll let it stand on its own.

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet connectivity fees) AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month. Every supporter is helping!
Again, thank you very, very much.
