GOOD MORNING
Good morning. I wish I could say that on Saturday I got ahead. I didn’t. But it’s okay.
Everyone here is going to early church today, then having a calm lunch back at the condos. Nothing too fancy, just some time with each other and food that is satisfying.
After lunch, I will resume trying to get some work done—not all day, but for a couple of hours. I don’t like the feeling of being behind, so knocking off a few things will be nice.
As of now, the plans for the evening are still up in the air. Perhaps I’ll know more when I check in later this afternoon.
In the meantime, I hope you have a great Sunday morning. See you soon!
I CAN EXPLAIN by Kaylee Branch
You might be thinking there are probably some rentals to be cleaned, since a lot of people check out on Sunday. If you think that, you’re right.
But here I am on the beach. There’s a pretty good reason.
Isaac and me went to early church and Jasmine and Micah were there. They said that all their friends were going to do a simple lunch together—like a potluck—just salad and sandwiches. Jasmine invited us to come, so we did.
We told them we needed to go do some checkouts, but then Jasmine and me got to talking. She’s trying to learn to swim better, and it’s almost 80° today, so she said if I’d go to the beach with her for a little while, she’d help us with the checkouts.
Well, she also thought it would be fun to bring Ailana’s camera and make me pose for pictures!
Anyway, I went out in the waves with her—up to our ribs—and we sorta ducked down into the water. She said half her problem was not liking her face wet, but when she relaxed, she could swim a little. Kinda like a breaststroke, I think.
I told her to turn on her back and do the same thing, and she actually said she liked that better. Not like a racing backstroke in the Olympics… just pushing the water with her hands at her side.
Meanwhile on the beach, Hudson and Micah were playing in the sand. Isaac was sitting back, just watching our son and our friend. Me and Isaac still think it’s great how Hudson likes our friends.
Jasmine reminded me of what Geoni said about it—that it means Hudson feels safe and loved, so he’s not afraid. And I have to tell you, that makes me very happy to hear.
THE PROSPECT IS GRIM
Let me be honest. I’m struggling. I am getting a lot done. There’s just so much to do. The prospect of catching up today feels grim!
I know you can tell that my posts are not as rambling as usual. (Maybe that’s good?) I’ve had a few messages asking if everything is okay.
Nothing is wrong. I just haven’t been able to get the posts out like I want to, and now I feel like I’m behind. So, I’m in the AGI/SwimFit office right now using several computers at once. If you can’t be efficient, at least be dramatic, right?
Meanwhile, Sasha has an idea brewing for the near future. Remember she said to get our laundry done? I’m reading that to mean a trip, and I don’t think I’m wrong.
Her latest message was telling:
“Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to get on Google (Bling is acceptable, too) and find things to write about in Mobile, Gulf Shores, Biloxi, New Orleans, Galveston, Port O’Connor, Corpus Christi, and Port Mansfield. If you don’t choose to accept it, too bad. Look it up anyway.”
I’m thinking I-10 or something. Not sure. Haven’t looked at the map yet, and I sure haven’t started Googling new things to do. I’ll get to it when I get to it.
I asked Jasmine if she knew. She said she was sworn to secrecy until the details are finalized.
For now, I’m getting back to my to-do list! I’ll definitely check in before bed, though.
GOOD NIGHT
The day ends as it began. I’m caught up. Not ahead. Not behind. Caught up. And that’s got to be enough, sometimes.
I tried to convince Sasha to give me some info about the—thing—she has planned. I’m sticking to my thesis that it’s a road trip, based on there being a list of destinations we’re supposed to research.
You might be wondering what the week to come looks like. So am I…
I know that tomorrow is the soft-opening of Sea Glass, and we’re all going to go there and have lunch. It will be fun, and we think it will make Kirina’s first day of business a little more relaxed. Having all of us there not minding how things go should let her test her systems without a lot of pressure.
Beyond Monday, I have no definite plans besides business as usual. I hope to make some headway on getting back to a comfortable state regarding the to-do list.
Let me wrap up this post now.
May you grow attentive to the world and the people within it—learning what matters, choosing what is good, and acting where you can. May you become more fully yourself, offering help when it is needed, caring for creation, and leaving each place better than you found it.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
I got today done just in time for it to be scheduled!
I did way too much on Crossroads today, but I'm working toward getting everything set up for months to come. I hope the brevity of the posts in Ailana's Journal aren't too short to be interesting!
If I am honest, the week to come should come down "just in time" rather than being scheduled a few days in advance. The upside is I should be more accurate in my weather reports!
I really appreciate everyone being part of this adventure. We've got some great things to come!
Sea Glass opens!
Shoreline Health and Wellness opens!
Whatever that thing Sasha is planning!
Josh and Geoni are moving toward adoption!
I'm looking forward to sharing it all with you, and as always…
Thank-You:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet connectivity fees) AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month. Every supporter is helping!
Again, thank you very, very much.
