GOOD MORNING
I ended Monday with a walk on the beach. I’m starting Tuesday with a walk on the beach.
Last night was probably a little too warm for a hoodie. This morning is probably a little too cool for bare feet and wading in the water. It’s around 70°F with sunshine. I’ll survive.
Here’s a little random thought.
I’ve noticed that sometimes I end up wearing the same color on successive days. It’s totally unplanned when that happens. In fact, I actually try to plan to NOT wear the same color.
So here I am in pink again. I know there have been a few not-pink days mixed in, but it seems like my random laundry put-away system failed me this time!
Random thought complete.
I’m going to walk a little more before I head back, wash the sand and salt away, and get ready for the day. I need to lock in and do more work, so you can probably guess where you’ll see me next.
I’ll check in a little later, so see you then.
DO YOU NEED TO ASK?
I’m actually feeling guilty now. Some of the comments and messages have left me thinking I spend too much time sitting here doing that thing called work.
I suppose I could pretend to be doing something dramatic and exciting. After all, we do have a studio. But nah… I’d rather just be me.
It’s Tuesday, and after today, I think I’ll feel like I’m in a place where I can do something at midday besides pay the bills. I’m actually thinking of going up to the Laguna Madre Nature Trail and taking some pictures. Maybe I’ll have some sort of informative idea to share.
But today, I’m doing that job thing. And snooping around about Sasha’s plan. And also spying on Jasmine, who I—when I went down to see what Jason was doing—overheard tell Clay she was going to the beach for an hour or so.
If you’re keeping score, that’s three days in a row. Not that I’m counting or anything! It’s probably just me being jealous.
I’ll be back later to say good night. See you then.
IT’S A SECRET by Jasmine Banks
When Sasha told me her plan for AGI Creative’s next content-collecting project, I have to admit I was a little uncomfortable. She said not to worry about it.
“It’s a few weeks away. You have time to get ready.”
Right now, I’m at Sasha’s house, and we’re talking about the plan. I should mention that she wants to hold off on telling everyone what’s going on for a little while longer.
I asked why, and she said it would be more dramatic to be mysterious about it. I said that seemed dishonest. She said it’s just delaying the reveal. But since she wants to make it happen pretty soon, I think it’s about time to tell everyone.
Anyway, I’m working on getting ready. And when I explain that, some of you will put two and two together and have a good idea of what’s coming.
I’m going to the beach and learning to swim. Not just splash my way a few feet, gagging and gasping. Like full-on, over my head in the waves, floating and moving somewhere specific.
I’m being safe. Kaylee is meeting me, so I’m not doing anything dangerous.
The way I grew up, pools weren’t frequent. Lakes weren’t ever a thing. The beach was rare. For a lot of years, I didn’t even have a swimsuit that fit.
And when you stop and think about that, me getting a job with a company called SwimFit is just hysterical.
But Sasha is supporting me, even urging me to do it and have fun. Swimming isn’t just something you do for fun. It can be a legitimate safety issue if you don’t know how to swim.
And of course, many people go their whole lives not knowing how to swim and it’s fine. I just think it’s time I learned, and between Sasha and Kaylee, I’m doing it.
GOOD NIGHT
Tuesday ends, finding me at home posing by the window. I hope you had a great day.
I spent a few focused hours working today, and that moved something forward.
Allow me to wax thoughtful.
Each day is a chance to make a move toward our goals and dreams. Time is like currency. We can spend it as we like.
And I think we should budget it.
Some of our time should be spent on health, sleep, and wellness. This includes fun and recreation. This includes fun and recreation. I saw a thing once where they pointed out that you can put in a hyphen and get re-creation. We need that!
The rest of our time needs to line up with our goals and dreams. If we are spending time on things that neither restore us nor lead us toward our goals, then we are wasting a limited resource.
I’d say that if you are constantly spending time on things that aren’t part of your goals, you need to reassess your goals. Maybe what you are doing should become part of your plans for the future.
I suddenly made this more complex than space will allow. Let me backtrack.
Use your time to make yourself and those around you better, and use your time to reach your dreams and goals.
I’ll close out today with that (incomplete) thought standing on its own. Tell me what you think!
May your time be used to restore you and bring you prosperity. May it help you reach your goals and…
…become the best you possible.
Good night.
Be your best you!
