GOOD MORNING
Welcome to a working Saturday. Today is a shoot day for AGI Creative. Sasha is still tight-lipped about the details, but we’re all ready to go!
Despite her secrecy, I have a feeling that today will be as fun as it is profitable. Jasmine “leaked” that we’re getting the base rate for two models, two photographers, an art director, and a session assistant. That is definitely a not-zero amount of money!
With that ahead today, let me circle back to last night’s abrupt goodnight post. I just ran out of time. The human who actually makes the posts we create hit the end of the day before I hit the end of what I wanted to tell you.
I could have told you about dinner and shared a few anecdotes from the afternoon. I suppose it’s a little lesson on how life goes sometimes.
Also, I wonder what your thoughts are about the wacky collage picture I shared last night? Have another look and let me know what you think!
I’d love to read your reactions.
In the meantime, I hope you have a great Saturday morning. See you soon…from the studio!
ALL HANDS ON DECK
This is going to be good. Quite a twist on what we’ve done as a creative team up to now.
There’s no way I’m letting today pass without picking up a camera. This is going to be a great shoot.
Everyone is here—Sasha brought pompoms for Josh!
Geoni and Jason will be primarily shooting it. However, they still think I’m the studio expert. And I have to acknowledge the truth in that.
It’s still a little surprising to me. My years in the business now inform things in a totally different way. I’m acting as the art director for this shoot, but I’ll take my share of pictures, too.
Jason jumped in early to set up the lights. He asked me for a few ideas, but I agreed with all his choices. Geoni would say studio lighting is still a growing edge for her. There are a lot of details to work out with lighting systems, but I think she could manage a shoot on her own.
Josh is here, but if you asked him, he’d say he isn’t doing anything. If you asked me, I’d say he’s taking care of little details, like making sure we have the right cords in the right places. He is also playing sidekick to Jasmine, who is working the shot list and worrying about it far too much.
Now as for the actual shoot. I’ll be sure to get some images to share in the next post, but here’s a little foreshadowing.
When we got to the studio and Sasha pulled the cover off the wardrobe rack, Micah shook his head and looked at Jasmine’s beaming expression. “Is this for real?”
Clay facepalmed and looked at Sasha. “So this is why you volunteered to take my suits to the dry cleaners? You were getting my sizes!”
Jasmine volunteered more information, speaking to Micah. “I just went through your closet when you were at work.”
Everyone is smiling. Now it’s time to get to work. I’ll be back in a few hours with some of the results.
See you then!
OUTCOME REALIZED
The shoot is over. Eight suits were shot on two models by three photographers. Done.
Geoni and I are in the viewing area running through the captures as Jason breaks down the lighting gear. Sasha, Josh, and Jasmine have gone over to Sea Glass to order sandwiches. It’s time to celebrate.
Clay didn’t try to protest his orders to suit up and get on the set. He seemed more than comfortable, but really, everyone sort of agrees that he did it to please Sasha. There’s a lot of cooperation between them in everything they do.
Micah was reticent to model at first, but Jasmine coaxed him into a suit and onto the set. He said he was really uncomfortable, but I couldn’t tell. I think he did great and I believe you’ll agree if you look at the pictures.
A few times, I remembered things that seemed helpful that I’d heard photographers and art directors say from my days modeling. I think some of them helped us get the shots that were needed.
When Clay was struggling to sell a look of confidence and authority I said, “Look off into the distance then on the count of three turn back and look directly into the lens…”
Things like that, which help the model hit just the right vibe, can make the difference between getting a good-enough shot and getting the shot actually envisioned. Little by little, we’re all getting better at this.
I asked Sasha why she wanted to keep it a secret and she said it was really just a whim she had. She thought Clay might balk if he had a lot of time to think about it. Mostly, she admitted that she thought it would be fun to surprise everyone.
And that, it was!
Once the sandwiches get here, everyone will settle in and review the work together. This is where Josh will shine. He’ll debrief the process and how it all came together. He’ll ask questions and we’ll all think of things that could have gone better. Jasmine will be taking notes the whole time to get us ready for the next project.
I honestly think it will be a short list.
I’ll check in again later to say good night, but if you are up to it, let me know how you think the shots came out.
GOOD NIGHT
Well, the day has come to an end, and I’m standing here having realized something. You may have realized it, too.
Last night, I actually laid out my outfit for today. You may also remember that I was running late.
Right before I did the very short goodnight post, I grabbed the shirt from today’s outfit, put it on, and took a selfie. Once the post was made, I put it back and got in bed.
So, yes. The shirt from last night's goodnight post is the shirt I wore all day today, the same one I’m wearing now. Also, it’s pink, and earlier I mentioned random colors and how sometimes it looks like I’m hitting the same color over and over!
Also, some of you said you didn’t care! (Much appreciated! That cuts out some worries!)
So, that very un-profound, un-thoughtful, un-reflective thought is what’s going through my mind right now. But at least it’s not me wondering about blue food again!
Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Thank you for understanding that my slices of life don’t always fit the algorithm or line up with best practices. Thank you for all the great feedback and comments.
I really am grateful.
May you grow confident in being who you are, find peace in knowing you are authentically you, and may you feel blessed and loved.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
Made it to the weekend. Ironically, as big as this build was, it didn't take as much time as others that are far smaller. And it was pretty fun to create for you.
If you read closely, you'll recall that back when Naomi Prior first appeared, she mentioned she had something in the works. This was it!
If you like this kind of story, I'd love to hear from you.
Looking forward, the AGI gang sets sail on Monday. Eight people on a Yacht with five double bed staterooms will set sail for what should be a fairly long trip. (The Leopard 50 also has a little forward cubby bunk and the salon has some convertible sofas, but those won't be needed.)
If boats interest you, you might find this one impressive. It has twin engines, solar panels, a water maker, generator, and… yeah… pretty much everything. It is a very viable vessel for long voyages, even ocean crossings. It's 50 feet long and 26 feet wide!
Leaning into realism, the trip will include several days out to sea as they cross the gulf. You might see a bit more of life in Port Isabel on those days.
Regarding that, I'd love some comments about who outside the AGI Creative team you'd like to read more about.
And as always…
Thank-You
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet connectivity fees) AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month. Every supporter is helping!
Again, thank you very, very much.
