SUNDAY THOUGHTS by Cindi Curtis

There’s something about Sunday mornings that feels different from the rest of the week.

Maybe it’s the quiet. Maybe it’s the sunlight coming in a little softer through the windows. Maybe it’s the sound of the rain calling to me as it patters on the roof and windows. Or maybe it’s just the feeling that, for a few hours at least, the world slows down enough for us to notice the good things God has placed around us.

This morning started simply. A cup of coffee, a comfortable chair, and the kind of quiet that makes you pause instead of rush. I’ve learned over the years that those quiet moments are gifts. Life moves quickly, and if we aren’t careful, we can run right past the small blessings that are meant to steady us.

When I was younger, I thought productivity meant always moving, always doing, always planning the next thing. But over time I’ve realized that rest has its own kind of purpose. It resets our hearts. It reminds us who we are and what matters most.

Today will have its responsibilities—there are always things to do, people to call, plans to make. But this moment right here is for gratitude. For taking a breath. For remembering that the same God who guides our biggest decisions also gives us mornings like this.

Here’s a verse that helps me keep that in mind.

Psalm 46:8, 10—

8 Come and see what the Lord has done…

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth.”

If you’re reading this, I hope you’re able to find a quiet moment today too. A few minutes to slow down, take a breath, and thank God for the blessings in your life—even the small ones.

Sometimes those are the ones that matter most.
