GOOD MORNING

Welcome to my Wednesday! As much as I try to keep things simple and minimal, sometimes, I twist myself up. Here’s an event sequence of how I got to these pictures.

• Woke up and rolled out of bed.

• Thought about making a post. Decided on coffee first.

• Decided to pass through the bathroom first-er. Did that.

• Got to the kitchen and started coffee.

• Looked back to see when I last posted from the kitchen—decided to post.

• Set up camera.

• Brushed hair.

• Found a tank top for the pictures.

• Picked up a mug for the pictures. Took pictures.

• Grabbed my laptop and wrote the post.

So, you might have noticed I never poured the coffee. That needs to happen now!

Afterwards, I’m heading back to the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. I’ll check in later with something that could possibly be more meaningful, so watch for it. See you then.

CAN WE WALK by Jasmine Banks

Me and Sasha had a call from Naomi, and I was a little worried about what she said. We got ahold of Ailana and said we wanted to talk. Ailana said we could take a walk and talk at the same time.

We made a little small talk until we got to the end of the block, then Ailana said, “So, what’s up?”

Sasha cut to the chase. “Naomi called. Gig’s up… you’re too old.”

Ailana laughed. “I feel like there’s more to this story.”

“Lots more,” Sasha replied.

Sasha and I explained that Naomi was negotiating with a new client, one that we mentioned before wanting us to do the modeling, photography, and copywriting for a web sales portal.

"The one she called about is for teen and college-age fashion,” I said.

“Not big-sisters,” Sasha added.

Ailana totally understood. “Been there, done that. I outgrew that look. I am too old for that.”

“Not for everything,” I said. “Just for this.”

Sasha went on to say that Naomi wants us to do some photography, some modeling, and all of the copywriting.

“So, you’ll model,” Ailana said to me. “We need a few more like you, don’t we.”

I smiled. “Well, I got a plan for one. I got Naomi to send me some e-contracts so she can be the agent, like she already is for the rest of us. If it works, would you help her make a lookbook?”

Of course, Ailana agreed.

A GOOD START by Micah Banks

Yesterday and today, Sofia and I have been interviewing workers for the Southeast Texas Apparel cut-and-sew factory. It’s gone much better than I would have guessed.

“So we agree that last guy is a keeper?” she asked.

“We do. That’s it. Counting you, we have all ten for the startup.”

“And the equipment comes tomorrow?”

I nodded. “Clay said so. But with a maybe.”

“So maybe tomorrow. If not?”

“I dunno. It’s scheduled for Thursday, but there’s an asterisk. It says ‘Running late. Tracking updated continually.’”

She shook her head. “That sounds medio raro.”

“Yeah, it’s sketchy. It leaves me uneasy, too, but it will work out.”

“We told everyone to report for work on Monday.”

I nodded again. “Except that last guy.”

“I’ll call him before we leave…” Sofia pulled her phone from her pocket. “What if they get here before the equipment?”

“We have our planned team meeting, then… I dunno… a picnic and some team building?”

“Maybe we do that anyway? Just break the ice? Maybe Sasha and Clay can come?”

I thought that sounded great. “Okay, working plan. I’ll talk to Clay and Sasha. I’m about 90% sure they’ll be all for that.”

We walked back to the table where we’d left all the paperwork for the day as she called the last guy. I picked everything up and she followed me out of the building.

I waited until she finished the call, then said, “Lock ‘er up.”

She smiled and looked at me with a shake of her head. “I still can’t believe I’m really the manager.”

“You are. This is going to be great.”

She nodded, still smiling, like she was trying it on for real. She locked the door, smiling even more.

GOOD NIGHT

Wednesday has come to an end and I really can’t complain about anything. I suppose that’s a good way to wrap things up.

After the walk with Sasha and Jasmine, I was pretty excited by the prospect of AGI leveling up as a creative company.I think the lines between Naomi’s developing business model and AGI Creative are starting to blur. Not in a bad way. In a way that reflects interdependence.

Another good thing was dinner with Jason. We decided to go to Denny’s since it’s been a while. Many of you know we’ve had some of our most important discussions at Denny’s—going all the way back to our senior year of high school.

“Hey…” Jason said. “All that with Sasha teasing us about having a baby. Are you okay?”

I laughed a little. “Honestly, I’m hoping I can pull off being a good wife. You know I doubt myself… I can’t even begin to think about being a mother.”

“You know I’m sure you’ll be a great wife.”

“I’m going to try.”

He stole one of my French fries, then said, “Don’t worry about what she said. We don’t have to decide any time soon. Let’s say medically, we have five years. If you ask me, we focus on each other until we think we’ve got that figured out.”

I smiled and shook my head at him. “You’re making this all easy. You take me for what I am.”

He stole another fry. “What you are is what I love. We’ll grow together. If we just do us our way, I’m sure we’ll be fine.”

“So no little Keller on the to-do list?”

He shook his head. “If we ever decide we want that, it will be us deciding on our schedule. For now, why would we put that pressure on ourselves?”

Thinking about his words led me to tonight’s closing:

May you know what’s best for you in the present, but may you leave yourself open to changes that might come your way.

Good night.

Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.

I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.

I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.

At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.

Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.

My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.

With that in mind, again, thank you very much.

GOOD MORNING. Good morning, Ailana. I think event sequence is kind of cool...and funny. Sort of an impromptu "behind the screen" post. I like it. Meaningful or not, we readers always enjoy the morning posts. Thanks, and have a great day.

CAN WE WALK by Jasmine Banks. Hey Jasmine! College age? Don't you know a college age girl with an infant son nearby who might help? And an insurance rep from Shoreline Clinic about college age? And a Whataburger counter helper ? The four of you should satisfy Naomi's client, right? Are you already ahead of me and I'm just now getting it? That's okay. I am sure you and AGI Creative can pull it off.

A GOOD START by Micah Banks. Good afternoon, sir. You are not going to be on site there all the time, right? Sofia will be the factory boss? Starting on Monday? I bet that if Clay says the equipment will be there, it will. Anyway, team building stuff sounds like a good way to start. Sofia should make a post of her own like an employee bio at some point. She seems Grade A. Good luck to you both!
