GOOD MORNING

Saturday and the weekend have arrived after a busy and productive week. The forecast for today is partly cloudy with temperatures near 80°F. I think today will be a nice respite after the week of work.

I found a shirt for the post, put it on, and set up the camera. This is what I came up with, and I’m going to just go with it.

I know I’ve said this a lot lately, but today I need to keep things short. The IRS has this thing they require… I have four days to get it done. I should probably start on that.

I’ll try to check in—I’m planning on that. There’s a slight chance someone else from around Southeast Texas will show up, too. No promises on that.

I’ll add that the human who actually makes my posts has also had multiple extra events. Time and energy are gone.

So, I’m going to make this post, hit the showers, and see about avoiding tax evasion. Wish me luck, and I hope to see you later today.

In the meantime, I hope you have a great Saturday morning. See you soon!

JUST WALKING

It’s the kind of day here in South Padre Island that brings locals to the beach alongside the growing tourist crowds. It’s pleasant, not hot. Back in Northwest Indiana, we’d deem the high 70s°F warm—borderline hot.

It’s getting tougher and tougher to compose images with no one in the background, so we’ll probably just give up on that completely as the crowds continue to grow.

I’ve, so far, spared getting my hair wet. Since I’m pressed for time, I’ll probably try to keep it mostly dry today.

Geoni and I wanted to stretch our legs. Of course, she brought a camera!

Our conversation has mostly been about Naomi’s growing business. We feel like that’s going to put a lot of work on our desks—and in our studio. Geoni will have duty shooting the shots as well as copywriting and editing.

“How many ways can you say bikini?” she asked. “I’ll need to expand my vocabulary!”

I smiled. “I’d say we have to think about the reader. What do they want to know?”

“Such as?”

“Does it tie? String bikini… Does it have a clasp or does it stretch? Adjustable? How?”

Geoni nodded. “The BlahBlahBlah is a two-piece, sized bikini offering ample coverage, with dramatic lines around the legs provided by a strong, thin, slightly stretchable waistband that keeps the suit in place while providing comfort when walking or swimming. The dramatic lines of the top provide a bold, yet modest look. The shoulder straps are stretchable enough to afford a comfortable fit, but strong enough to prevent slipping under most circumstances. The backstrap includes a sliding clasp to adjust the fit perfectly.

I shook my head and looked at her. “Yeah… That’s pretty good. I think… We can look at catalogs and get ideas.”

“I guess the clients will have some stock words for us to use.”

“Fair bet,” I replied.

We’re both very excited that AGI Creative is growing, and that copywriting looks to be a part of its future. Josh, too, is looking forward to connecting his writing skills to the modeling work. And Naomi says she’s confident we’ll do great.

JUST SITTING by Brooks McKenna

Summer vacation from high school is getting close! You better believe I’m counting down the days. May 22 can’t come soon enough! I’m kinda done with being a sophomore.

Over the summer, I can work more hours, and of course, I’ll have more free time. We just have to get through these last few weeks.

I have to work tonight, so I decided to come down to the beach this morning. I’ve been here long enough to activate some freckles, so I should probably head home.

I’ve been mostly watching people. Families in the water. Couples walking. Just stuff like that.

I saw two women walk by a minute ago. The one with black hair had, like, a pro camera, and she was taking pictures of the one with blonde hair. I only heard a few words, but it sounded like they were doing something for work.

Some guy I’ve seen on the bus was trying to do tricks on a skimboard. He wasn’t bad, but the waves weren’t helping him much. I almost asked if I could try, but then, nah… I don’t know his name—maybe Aiden—or what kind of guy he is.

Anyway, I really need to get going so I can get ready for work. Until then, I’ll be around doing my thing. See you next time.

GOOD NIGHT

Today felt surprisingly long. I blame the IRS. Jason and I made fried bologna sandwiches (add cheese!)—chips on the side—and called that dinner. Sometimes simple things like that are just right.

He worked on his stock photo catalog today. The income from it is steady, but it’s supplemental at best. It feels like the sort of thing that builds critical mass and then becomes something.

After dinner, we cuddled and watched the news. Both of us were tired, so we called it a night, and now—here I am.

I want to say something to those of you who keep commenting on my smile. I love hearing that! I’m not going to let this post pass without doing something lighthearted! And I’ll add a third image on EXCLUSIVE for Patreon!

Across the AGI pages, the claim that smiles are good for everyone involved—both the one smiling and those seeing them—has come up more than once. Here’s the thing…

Smiles cost you nothing and do so much good for those who see them. Long ago, I claimed that if the person you’re around doesn't know you really well, fake a happy face and wish them well. You’re not really faking. You’re gifting a bright moment to someone.

I’d argue that the cashier you’ve never met doesn’t need you frowning at them, no matter how bad things are going. “Thanks… have a nice day.” That’s free and might be a bright spot in their shift.

I do things like that all the time. IIt has never gone badly. I get ignored sometimes, but that doesn’t cost me anything either. I end up feeling sorry for the person, to be honest.

So, that’s it.

I’m tired, but I’m trying to smile for you!

May you grow attentive to the world and the people within it—learning what matters, choosing what is good, and acting where you can. May you become more fully yourself, offering help when it is needed, caring for creation, and leaving each place better than you found it.

Good night.

Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.

I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.

I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.

At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.

Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.

My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.

With that in mind, again, thank you very much.

JUST WALKING. Northwest Indiana. Northwest Indiana just sounds cold. Thanks, Geoni, for bringing a camera. Ooo, Geoni, talking my language. Well, any man's language. I'm with Naomi, I'm sure you'll be great.

JUST SITTING by Brooks McKenna. Hello Brooks. Really? Two women walked by, one with a pro camera. Interesting. Glad you could hang out long enough to activate some freckles. Thanks for your update. Have a good rest of your day!

GOOD NIGHT. Yep. Always the IRS. But resistance is futile. Ask any famous Hollywood star. Fried bologna sandwiches are indeed delicious. With Baked Lays cheddar cheese chips for me. We keep commenting on your smile because... you have a great smile! So, thanks for sharing! Yep. Good advice. I try to say have a nice day myself to others. Truly good advice. Some philosopher said that a smile is happiness found...right under your nose! Thanks for the bonus photo. I bid you goodnight. 🌙.

Definitely the last one is the best, Ailana. You should post smiling pics more often. I bet many people would like to see them.
