GOOD MORNING

Friday has come, and with it… a change in plans. In a business depending on deliveries, you have to be ready to adapt.

When we got back to the condo last night, Sasha was waiting on us. After exchanging pleasantries about dinner, she let us know something was up.

“Naomi called. She wanted to know whether we were tracking the scarves.”

“I have been,” Jasmine replied. “Nothing had changed between lunch and dinner when I checked last.”

“I checked,” Sasha replied, “when Naomi called. They won’t be here until dinner time tonight at the earliest.”

Everyone had blocked off today for the photo session, so suddenly we have a day to fill. Some of you probably have ideas…

I will tell you that I’m going to grab my laptop and work for a couple of hours. I’ll add that when I check back in later, the laptop won’t be part of the story!

You’ll have to watch for the next post in a few hours to find out what the plan is!

BEACH TIME

For the record… yes, we are at the beach and relaxing. However, let me add a few quick facts.

1.) Not only did I finish editing an article, I sold it.

2.) Sasha landed purchase contracts for SwimFit with a beach and surf shop chain that has stores in Miami, Bondi, Waikiki, and other places around the world.

3.) Jasmine turned in all of her schoolwork for the week—for both her BSN program and the business degree she’s working on—either last night after dinner or before we came here.

4.) Geoni sent back edits on the last of this week’s Journal articles yesterday.

Since we were planning to be in the studio today, we all stayed busy and planned for that. Therefore, today’s plan changed!

Hope you don’t mind.

BEACH TIME CONTINUED

Too much? I’m thinking we’re about done for today. But we wanted to share a little more of the day with you.

There’s not much more to tell. We’ve talked a lot about babies, adoption, weddings, and our growing friend group. Jasmine had a thought about Kaylee and Isaac.

“Me and Micah… you know… we’re younger than you guys. We love being part of all this. Well, Ailana, your dad… he took an interest in Micah right off, and the same for Isaac.That time he took them both to The Kraken ended up with me and Kaylee being friends.”

“And now,” Sasha added, “we have another great model in the making.”

Jasmine nodded and then said to me, “If you ever get tired of your dad, let me know, and I’ll take him. He makes me feel like I belong in this life.”

I answered right away. “First of all, you do belong in this life. And secondly, you can’t have Dad, but I’m happy to share. And I’m going to tell him what you said. He doesn’t know how other people see him.”

In a few minutes, I’ll be heading back to the condo with my skin aglow from the sun and my heart aglow because of what Jasmine said.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED by Sofia Torres

Today went extremely well, if you ask me. Actually, better than expected…

Micah and I thought we could just run the whole process as if everything had already been in place and see how it went. Overall, there were very few things that needed to be changed.

We just closed the door after saying goodbye to everyone, and I think we’re both satisfied.

“We almost hit our target number, and this was just our first day,” Micah said.

“I love that you changed ‘quota’ to ‘target number.’ That sounds so much more… I don’t know…”

Micah nodded. “It seems like a carrot, not a stick.”

“I like that…” I smiled and nodded.

“I feel like we can hit target pretty easily.”

“Well, we were only working one pattern,” I said. “A one-piece, at that. We’ll have to see how things go, but there’s no harm in going over, is there?”

“Well, in theory,” Micah replied. “The crux of this thing will be sales. Jasmine and Sasha are getting orders and setting things up for Amazon. We need to get a lot of inventory ready to go, do some modeling, then get it all listed and on the market.”

“We’ll do our part,” I said.

“Yeah, we will,” Micah said. “Long day, though… Did you even eat?”

“Just the bag of pretzels we shared. You…” I pointed down the highway. “Do you want to hit Subway and grab a sandwich?”

Micah shook his head. “I want to catch up with Clay and see about the extra cutting table. Maybe if he orders it tonight, it can get delivered Monday or Tuesday.”

“Okay, sounds great.”

We walked to our cars and headed out. If today is anything like how things are going to go, I think this is going to be awesome. I moved to the U.S. in 2025 and got my green card in August. I’ve had a job since I was eighteen, and I can definitely say this is the best opportunity I’ve ever had.

I want this to work, and I’m willing to do whatever I can to make it happen.

GOOD NIGHT

For a day that started with a change of plans, I have to say it was really pretty nice. I think taking time off in the middle of the day and going to the beach as a group was a great idea that we should repeat from time to time.

Dinner was super simple. Everyone ended up in the office, and we had deli meat sandwiches with salad. Now, it’s time for an after-dinner walk around town.

With me tonight is just Jason. We don’t have any place in mind—we went to the end of the street and turned left. We’re just walking and talking about the day and tomorrow’s scarf shoot.

I wish everyone’s life were as easy as mine—so that when the unexpected occurs, the changes can sometimes become nice surprises. How great would it be if people’s lives were stable enough that bumps in the road didn’t completely upset the cart?

May you have space in your life, margins that give you room to adapt to struggles and still reach your goals.
