GOOD MORNING
I woke up before my alarm, took a look at the weather and saw it was warm and partly cloudy. One thought filled my mind: beach.
Yesterday’s attempt to keep things brief caused me to forget to say that Jasmine took Josh and Geoni to the airport for their trip to meet some prospective teens for adoption. She returned to tell me they were as nervous as they were excited.
As I understand it, they’re meeting a few teens and a few caseworkers.
They have a couple of cities to visit, but on Friday they’ll end up in L.A. and will fly from there to Chicago to check on their house and visit with Josh’s family. On Monday night, they’ll meet the rest of us in St. Louis for our model and photography project.
My day today will be routine. I’ll get home in a few minutes, shower and all that, then dig in and get some work done.
As always, I’ll check in later and update you on progress. See you soon!

LUNCH BREAK
I’m transitioning from fiction work to more work on my notes about families facing food insecurity. Since some of you have enjoyed following my work on the sci-fi novel, I’ll try to get something polished up and share it soon.
I have reviewed a lot of comments and DMs from yesterday (the ones in the language I actually can understand). I was shocked to learn that no one is actually working on a zombie apocalypse bunker.
Didn’t your parents tell you—better safe than sorry!
From what I could gather, most of you were either working yesterday or already home from work by the time you saw my post. I guess that’s to be expected for a Wednesday, right?
Looking ahead, does anyone have weekend plans they’d like to share? My weekend will mostly be getting ready for the St. Louis trip. I might get some sand on my feet, though, at some point!
I’d love to hear what you’re up to and what plans you have, so leave a comment. And don’t forget—it’s never too soon to start on your bunker!
See you soon!
LATE LUNCH by Camila Lopez
Lunch had to happen late today. I had to respond to a lost child call.
It turned out fine. A tourist family was on a SPI highlights tour with a small company. They stopped at the Convention Center and were walking part of the Laguna Madre Nature Trail.
The child was a 12-year-old deaf boy. He wasn’t paying attention to the wildlife, so they took his phone. He got engrossed in watching a wading bird fish, and the group moved off. When he looked up, they were farther away than the Convention Center, so he went back to the orca wall, where his mom and dad had said to meet if they got separated.
Mom and dad forgot about that when they panicked. Issue easily resolved. Mom and dad face-palmed and apologized.
I love my job. Even late lunches.
I was born in Corpus Christi on April 3, 2002, and moved to the Brownsville area with my family in 2006. We weren’t rich, but we always had what we needed, and my parents taught me to respect work, people, and responsibility.
I graduated from Hanna in 2020, earned my B.S. in Criminal Justice from UTRGV in 2024, completed the police academy after that, and started with South Padre Island PD on March 16, 2026. I’m still new—but I take the badge seriously.
I’m 24 and new to the force, but I think I have a lot to offer.
Off the record, the chief said I should try to build rapport with the teens who live here. I’m sort of doing that now—also getting lunch.
Brooklyn works here most days after school, and we’re at the stage where, when she says, “Good afternoon,” she’s speaking to me, not a random customer with a generic greeting. If that makes sense.
Today, she said, “Hi… Nice to see you again.”
I think that’s what the chief wanted. Get on good terms with the teen residents and keep an eye out for young tourists, too.
GOOD NIGHT
Here’s something you probably know, but I’m going to share it anyway. Laundry. [Sentence fragment intentionally created for dramatic effect.]
Tell me… why does every trip both begin and end with laundry? I thought I’d get a head start on packing for St. Louis, so I dragged out the suitcases. A quick inventory of what I wanted to take revealed that it was time. Laundry.
Here’s a related random thought—not original, but it crept into my consciousness just now. If you are clean when you get out of the shower, how come your towels get dirty? Just saying…
Deep breath, now.
Sometimes, I get halfway through a post and realize I owe everyone a huge apology for pulling back the curtain on the chaos going on inside my brain! This is one of those times!
But I wasn’t joking about trips starting and ending with laundry! You know I’m right about that!
Let me see if I can redeem this post with a few rational remarks.
The Banks, Everetts, Jason, and I had burgers for dinner. Micah reported that the Southeast Texas Apparel factory has hit their production target three days in a row now. Sasha and Jasmine pledged to double down on getting orders, but they are ready to send a first wave to Amazon for distribution. There were definitely some high-fives tonight.
Micah and Clay have decided to stay in Texas instead of going to St. Louis.
Honestly, I think that makes sense.
Clay says that, now that the system is in place, he’d like to watch for a few days. He didn’t want to go sooner lest the team would think he was there to tell them how to do things.
I also think that makes sense.
May you see clearly how best to use your time in order to reach your goals, renew yourself, and support others around you.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
