THE WEEK TO COME by Cindi Curtis Allen
Me and my big ideas! Dinner Saturday didn’t turn out like I expected.
Roman Lenox was talking about problems with his system to update customers’ applications. Basically, he didn’t have a system and had been doing it manually.
A fairly direct solution seemed obvious to me.
“Why don’t you…” I said, then went on to sketch out an idea for how he could make it a lot easier.
He said he’d thought of a similar idea, but didn’t have time or staffing to do it.
“You could do that,” he said, then we negotiated for me to work for him part-time and temporarily to build out the idea into a working system.
Argh…… Grrr…and other distress sounds!I have to go to his office on Wednesday and meet people and look at systems and do HR stuff and did I mention I have to go to his office and meet people?
Hayes is going with me and promises it won’t be bad. Jordan got on board fast and has planned “girls out for lunch” at a famous Memphis restaurant called The Cupboard.
I said I’d consider following a morning in an office full of strangers with lunch in a crowded restaurant.Naturally, Jordan pretended to pshaw my distress, insisting I’m not the scared girl I used to be.
And it hit me.
I’m not.

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
