Chapter 100: ON-GOING DEVELOPMENTS by Meredith Sinclair
As the school year winds down, I’ve been pretty busy at work. My work on the new novel project has lagged behind a bit, but I’m still making progress.
Will and I have been working on ideas on and off a few nights each week, and I think the outline is coming together very well.
I did work out an arrangement with an editor—Ailana Geven—who is edging closer to being a cowriter than not. She’s a solid addition to the project, and if things go on like this, I may have to start thinking about whether her name belongs on the title page.
Anyway, I thought I’d share another section from the draft with you today.
Sienna and Luke continued monitoring the main console at Security Station M in the shopping district of Stratus Three until it was time to take a lunch break and then go on patrol.
“Potatoes Real never lets us down,” Luke said as they started walking along the travelway in front of the stores. “Downland cheese was money well spent.”
“What time do we have security call for Senator Roivah?” Sienna asked.
“We pick him up at 05.50. Let me double-check…” Luke opened his handheld and checked the latest updates on orders.
Sienna waited for him to nod, then said, “So, three hours hoofing the travelway.”
“The cargo-tram from Stratus Five should be in by then,” Luke replied. “We should get to the lift core and keep watch on the unloading.”
“Let the madness commence!” Sienna laughed. “Why do people get so worked up? It comes three times each week.”
“I guess because the shippers want to be first in line at the lift portal when their tram car unloads.”
Sienna was then reminded of something. “Did you ever learn why the ag-tram was late last week?”
“Not officially, but I heard some shippers say a tree had fallen across the tramline and damaged the rails.”
Sienna nodded, then watched a storekeeper adjusting something on his kiosk. “Well, we can get to the core for lift time, then make our way to the security call for Roivah. Should be a fairly routine afternoon.”
“Routine is good,” Luke replied.

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
