Ailana and Jason finished breakfast and cleaned up as much as possible before weighing anchor for the final run back to Sea Ranch Marina. The honeymoon was ending.

They went to the helm, and Jason started the engines. Ailana double-checked the anchor and said it was secure.

Jason eased the throttles forward and engaged the props. “This was great.”

“It was easier than anything I’ve ever done. We didn’t have to worry about anything.”

Jason nodded. “I hate to see it end.”

“Me too.” Ailana kissed her husband’s forehead.

“But,” Jason added, “I’m just as excited for what comes next. Sharing a normal life with you—no walking you to the door and saying good night—I feel like it’s a dream come true.”

Ailana just nodded as Flying High got up to speed and settled onto her course for home, carrying them toward the life that had been waiting beyond the honeymoon.
