Chapter 116: BY PROXY by Emma Knox
Well, everybody, I’m working at the church a little today. You probably remember I work for their homeless program. Today, I’m just doing towels.
Paul wanted everyone at Crossroads to make an update, but some of the folks don’t feel like there’s much to share, so they told me to just catch you up.
Here goes. I’ll start with couples.
You heard from Merritt and Hannah, me and Noah, Kent and Izzy… Rebecca says she’ll make a post soon.
So Addison and Jacob are both doing fine, both as a couple and with their jobs. Addison still manages Crossroads Apartments for Tom Jenkins, and she directs all the stages at the theater. She also acts on the “Life in the Delta, 1875” stage. Jacob still works for Apple as a Genius. He’s been talking to Caleb Hastings, though, and he’s thinking about enrolling in a computer science program.
Speaking of Caleb, he and Liza are real happy with each other. He’s finishing his first year in a master’s program. She just graduated and is a real engineer at NYC SysCo, where Merritt and Hannah work.
I’m going to skip to Caleb’s sister, Chloe. She finished her first year of grad school, too. She’s studying criminal justice. She still comes to Crossroads every weekend and visits with everyone, especially Shay and Devon.
Now those two are really happy! Shay went through a time of being upset about having guards all around. I guess you know they worked out a plan where two people, Mara and Evan, are off pretending to be Shay and Devon while Shay and Devon are here pretending to be them. So far as I can tell, everyone’s happy.
That’s it for most of the people at Crossroads. I’ll add that Shay’s new guard, Olivia Medina, is really nice. I think she’s good at her job, too. The best thing is that she and Shay have hit it off and really seem to like hanging out, even though it’s Olivia’s job to be there.
There are more people around, but I guess that’s the main group. Eric Marsten said he’ll check in, so he’ll probably talk about Conner. I like Conner, too, just to say that!
Well, that’s about it. Thanks for reading my story!

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I cannot say how much your support helps. Each of your contributions adds up and helps defray the cost of producing content. As of now, between donations here and Instagram monetization, most of the software costs are covered. Not quite all of them, but most…
Because of your generosity, I am able to keep going.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
