GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
Another day, another hotel, another T-shirt. I swear I don’t even recall packing this one, and I checked—it’s not Jason’s.
“Ailana…” He actually rolled his eyes. “Look at the collar! Does that look like something I’d wear?”
Point taken. I guess I get to wear it!
Today is a working day. Naomi arranged the wardrobe and booked us for a day of work. Call that windfall income? I plan on sharing something later, so you know we weren’t just sipping iced tea by the pool all day!
The line features workwear and outdoor-lifestyle outfits. IIf you’ve ever seen the women’s clothing section at an outdoor sporting-goods or farm-and-ranch store, it’s like that. Think of the clothing departments at Bass Pro Shops or Tractor Supply…
The shot list is very specific. And long.
Our call time is in about an hour, so I need to get moving! I have my slip-on sandals and button-front dress ready to put on so I can change quickly once we get to the location.
I’ll be back later, but in the meantime, I hope you have a great Tuesday morning. See you soon!

HOTEL DAY by Emily Amos
EXCLUSIVE FOR PATREON!
Plans changed. The RV was so full that there really wasn’t room for everyone to ride to the photo shoot, so Micah, Kel, and I stayed at the hotel. Plus, if we’d gone, it wouldn’t have been convenient for us to leave once we got there.
All three of us started slowly, but we got to the hotel lobby before the free breakfast ended. It’s a pretty good one—like, I have much to compare to, but it was nice.
We thought we’d spend some time this morning in the pool and get out before the UV index reaches microwaved-potato level. Sunscreen, of course!
Micah’s been on the phone with Sofia, like, four times. They were talking business for a while, then it seemed like she was asking about Jasmine from how Micah responded. Then he said something that was a little mysterious!
“Well, good luck, and make sure you stay safe! I’ll tell Jasmine for sure.”
Cue mystery music: “Dum dum da da…”
Jasmine has mentioned Sofia a few times. Maybe we’ll all meet someday.
After we get out of the pool, we’re going to call an Uber or Lyft and go to a mall and walk around. Micah said it would probably have a food court or some other place to eat.
He said we might also see a movie to pass some time this afternoon until the others finish the photo shoot.
Basically… we’re chilling today.
PHOTO SHOOT by Ailana Geven Keller
This is my last outfit for today. We’ve been shooting for hours, so I thought I’d take a moment and share a few images. I’ll let them speak for themselves and focus on talking about the process.
The line we’re shooting is women’s workwear and outdoor-lifestyle outfits. The wardrobe techs showed up with a LOT of outfits, and the shot list called for each outfit to be modeled in a particular way—we had a little latitude, but, as usual, the client had clear expectations.
Sasha and Jasmine found a farm near the city where we could work. We put all the outfits into the RV and drove out.
The RV is our wardrobe room. It’s a nice-sized RV, but the sleeping area was taken over by the wardrobe techs and all the outfits. With the four of us moving fast and changing outfits, it felt crowded.
Privacy was forfeited. Men and cameras were banned from inside.
“This,” Sasha said, “reminds me of that time in Cairo when our hotel reservation got messed up and we had to live in one room.”
She’s right about that. I’ll see if I can find a picture that tells more of that story and share it tonight.
Really, after a few rounds of changing outfits in a crowded space, we all just relaxed and went with it. The RV worked as intended.
“Can you see my baby bump?” Sasha asked.
“Only if you arch your back and I look for it,” Geoni replied.
We worked through the shots quickly but carefully. Jason shot most of the images, but Geoni and I jumped in when we were able.
The clothes were legitimate work outfits—sturdy fabrics meant to hold up under heavy use. They were soft, though.
Still, Jasmine said the day had been tough on "the girls." She said they were very tired and a little sore. For most of her shots, they were given a whole lot more freedom to move around than they were expecting.
I honestly have no idea what that would be like.
Okay… I wrote all that about half an hour ago. Now we’re done. I’ve kicked off my shoes, and I’m here to close the post.
I’ll say again, it was a great day, and we already sent a few samples to Naomi.
Her reaction: “Exactly why I called you.”
That’s it for now. I’ll be back tonight, so see you then.
GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller
And how would you end a long workday? Me? Jason and Denny’s!
Sasha and Clay backed out of dinner—they’ve been whispering secrets all day, so I don’t know… Knowing Sasha, AGI’s lead project manager, she might have called SpaceX and arranged a photo session in Earth orbit!
Everyone else is scattered around Denny’s. Micah, Jasmine, Emily, and Kel took a booth. Geoni and Josh are with Jason and me.
The work today was fast and fun.I mentioned that we eventually gave up on trying for privacy while changing outfits in the RV. I mentioned that it brought back memories from Geoni’s first trip with me. We’d gone to Cairo.
I went back and found the image I mentioned earlier today. It was from July 18, 2024—the hotel had botched our reservation. Instead of a suite, we had a room with one king-size bed. At least we all had our own sheets and blankets! We managed. Struggles like that helped forge our friendship.
I’ll add that Geoni and Josh met on that same trip, in the hotel lobby. They ran into each other at the coffee station. Who says love at first sight isn’t possible? Not them!
From then on, their love for each other continued to grow until they married in March 2025. Now, here we are today.
I suppose I’ll close the Journal with that. We’ll be back on the road tomorrow, and I’ll let you know the plan in the morning.
May today’s challenges and struggles become comfortable memories in your future. May you find love that lasts, and may your heart be filled with joy and peace.
Good night.
