PUSH THROUGH IT—from 2026-07-11

The more she walked the more Hannah Madison realized just how wrong her decision to try and beat the rain had been. Slow, but steady, the summer rain fell on her, soaking her completely.

The more she walked, the more her shirt stretched. But the consequences of her decision were out of her control.

She knew wishing for the weather to change was a fool's folly. She knew she could not go back in time and change her choice.

All that was left was to push through, get home, and get dry.

UNTIE THE SHIRT—from 2026-07-12

The photographer studied the last few frames, then looked up from the monitor.

“Untie the shirt,” he said. “Let it hang.”

Laci glanced down at the knot at her waist.

There was no surprise in the request. The shirt had already been styled open, and the next adjustment was obvious enough. She had agreed to the wardrobe and knew what kind of shoot she had accepted.

“All right.”

She pulled the knot loose and let the flannel fall naturally at her sides. An assistant stepped in to smooth one sleeve and make sure the plaid sat evenly across her shoulders.

Then Laci returned her hand to the reins.

The photographer asked her to sit taller. On the next setup, she brought one knee forward and touched the brim of the hat while the horse stood patiently beneath her.

The mountains remained soft behind her. The shirt moved slightly in the wind. The photographer took another long series of frames.

Laci still did not know exactly what they were selling.

Maybe it was the shirt. Maybe it was the hat, the jeans, the tack, or the entire collection. Maybe the photographs were meant to sell a western fantasy more than any one product.

Whatever it was, she hoped the pictures helped.

More importantly, she hoped the client remembered that she had arrived on time, followed direction, stayed comfortable around the horse, and never made the simple work more complicated than it needed to be.

A follow-up job would be nice.

Work was work. Pay was pay.

And a person did not always need to know every detail before cashing the check.

PUSH THROUGH IT—from 2026-07-11. Hello Hannah. Sometimes you just can't help it. The rain starts before you can make it back. Better get out of that wet shirt before you catch cold. Thanks for the extra.

UNTIE THE SHIRT—from 2026-07-12. Hello Laci. Nice to meet you. I think you'd agree that more than one fantasy is being sold here. And a fine job of selling it is. No wonder the photographer took multiple shots. Nice work. I think you more than understood the assignment and knocked it out of the park. Thanks for posting. .
