GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
Look who’s not freaking out about today’s photo session. No need to panic, right? It’s going to be part of the routine, so—at least for this week—there’s no need to freak out!
Today, we have a photo shoot in the studio over in Port Isabel. We have two boot camp models, plus several of the others we’ve recruited over the months.
The ladies from the clinic and Kirina are going to come through as time permits and get photographed in a couple of different outfits. Sasha is going to manage the shot list and keep things moving along.
I mentioned that we’re going to see a new model Naomi has recruited for her new business direction. She’s calling it the Gen X Team, though there are a couple of Millennials in the group.
Naomi said a more mathematically accurate description is “closer to fifty than to twenty.”
The Gen X Team model joining us today is Danielle Whitaker. There’s a twist with her modeling that I’ll mention later.
The other boot camp model is Mallory Bennett. She’s a 27-year-old dental hygienist Naomi has signed. I’ll be helping her get a sense of how a full-scale studio shoot works.
So watch for the midday post with pictures from the session and more information. See you then.

BOOT CAMP by Ailana Geven Keller
As requested, I’ll be sharing some of my images with you today. I’ll also share one image each from the new models—Mallory and Danielle.
There’s a little wrinkle with Danielle that makes AGI the better place to represent her. Danielle is Naomi’s attorney, and Naomi is one of Danielle’s legal clients. They’ve worked together for years and become something close to friends, but they’ve always kept the professional line where it belongs.
If Danielle signed with Prior Talent, Naomi would suddenly be both her client and her modeling agent. Nobody needs that mess!
So Naomi’s solution was simple: Danielle would sign with AGI. We can handle her modeling work, Naomi can keep being Naomi, and Danielle can keep being her lawyer without everybody wearing three hats at once.
But Sasha gets a new hat.
Sasha stared at me. “Hang on…now we’re agents for models too?”
“Just the X Team for now.”
“For now? Those are dangerous words around here.”
I laughed. “Naomi’s helping us set it up.”
Sasha narrowed her eyes. “And who’s tracking bookings, contracts, rates, schedules, payments, and clients?”
I smiled.
“Don’t smile at me like that.”
“You’re really good at organization.”
She sighed and reached for her iPad. “Fine. Give me the roster.”
Back to the actual job…today’s session was built around one idea: loose legs. Naomi’s client wanted a line that could move from soft, casual, and almost bedroom-easy all the way to polished, client-ready, and boardroom-clean.
So we worked through wide legs, fluid drape, relaxed volume, and pieces that changed mood without losing the thread.
Danielle carried the more refined end of it beautifully, while Mallory brought a younger, lighter energy, and I filled in some of the transitional looks. The whole point was versatility—showing how one silhouette can feel elegant, practical, effortless, or fashion-forward depending on the styling.
Min, Vanessa, Kirina, Izzy, and Kaylee had similar looks. From pajama pants to business suits, everything worked within that easy, loose-legged look.
That’s it for now… See you tonight.
MAYBE IT’S SIMPLE by Sofia Torres
This afternoon, Clay—the owner of SwimFit—came by with his friend, Josh—who is an investor. They were looking at the new machines we’ll be using to do custom imprinting soon.
Since I’m the last to leave and lock up, Ryan has made it a habit to come by when he’s not working so I don’t have to be alone in the parking lot. He came by today.
Something happened that I think maybe means something.
As we were leaving, I stopped to lock the door when Clay said to Josh, “So, what should we do about our DinaTek stock?”
Josh shrugged. “I’m ready to cut my losses.”
Ryan looked over. “Dina with an ‘i’ and Tek with a ‘k’?”
“Yeah…” Clay replied. “Why?”
“There was a copy of The Wall Street Journal lying on the sporting goods counter. I was flipping pages and saw that name. It stood out because of the spelling… It said they won their court case and would be back to full production levels in a week or so.”
“Today’s edition?” Josh asked, pulling out his phone.
Ryan nodded. “Like two pages from the back of the A section, at the bottom.”
A few seconds passed, and Josh said, “Found it. I’ll read this in the car on the way home. Thanks…”
“Just lucky, I guess,” Ryan replied.
Josh and Clay left and I turned to Ryan. “Maybe it wasn’t luck.”
“What?”
“Maybe providence put that paper there and led you to notice it just so you could keep them from making a mistake.”
“It wasn’t a big deal. I just remembered seeing the article.”
“Ryan, I think you’re hunting for the meaning of life the wrong way. Maybe it’s just what you said: Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Maybe it’s that simple… doing little things like that.”
Ryan looked down. “I don’t know… I…”
“Maybe,” I said, “making a life means smiling at your customers, telling strangers something they need to know… buying cookies for the Sunday School class, saying a prayer at Bible Study, and cuddling with me on the couch. Maybe that’s it. Maybe that’s what life is supposed to be.”
“All those things are really good,” he said.
“Maybe that’s all there is to it.”
GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller
We made it through today. I lost count of how many outfits we shot. I have to stop and think about who all even modeled!
There were the two new models Naomi sent—Danielle and Mallory. Kirina came over in the morning and then again later in the afternoon.
The clinic ladies came as time permitted. Min, Vanessa, and Izzy came in the morning.Isabella came in the afternoon with Dr. Overmark—Olivia—who Naomi has recruited into the Gen X Team with Danielle and the others.
Sasha modeled a few outfits, but she did over-the-shoulder poses. She says she’ll show you why tomorrow! You can guess, I bet!
Geoni, Kaylee, Jasmine, and I cycled through outfits all day. We started processing images and sending them to Naomi after lunch. She said they all looked great. She and Danielle talked on the phone, and I heard Danielle say she was having fun.
Once the shot list was done, we sat down and debriefed like we always do. I think we need to make a little change.Naomi agreed that we can move the sessions she sends us to Thursday instead of Wednesday going forward. Based on Kaylee’s work, Jasmine’s classes, and things at the clinic, Thursday works out slightly better, so that’s the new plan.
Otherwise, we’re calling today a success.
Clay and Josh got back from the SETA factory a little while ago, so everyone is going to get things cleaned up, packed up, and ready for tomorrow. Then we’re heading over to Sea Glass for dinner.
I’ll end it with that… See you tomorrow and good night.
Be your best you!
