Kevin

Shes manipulative towards the main character and has sex with him to get him to further her agenda and hopes he too is eventually killed. Its Gundam so she dies.

She was a civilian who was made to represent how war twists the POV of some people. She lived a life of luxury and ignorance of the outside world living in neutral territory, until her colony was attacked for secret gundams being built there. Forced into a warship after a rescue, her father comes on an advanced fleet to meet her, but they are overwhelmed by the enemy. Her father being her only family left, she falls into a state of desperation and takes a civilian girl from the other side, Lacus, as hostage telling the crew to tell the enemy She would kill her in order to save her father. The message is never sent as her father's ship is destroyed the necmxt moment. She falls unconscious out of shock, and ends up blaming the protagonist, as is human nature to blame someone when they can't make sense of the bigger truth. Her POV is twisted as she wants someone to blame for losing everything, so she lures the protagonist, Kira, into a seductive relationship to make him a means to eradicate the enemy. However, spending time with him slowly makes her come to realize she developed genuine feelings for him, unable to balance her former goal of revenge with this newfound love for him, especially after he goes MIA. She ends up getting written out mostly for the second half of the first anime, captured by the enemy. After finding out Kira is still alive, she hopes to find a way back to him to make things right, to apologize for how she treated him, and be reunited. The director by this point had moved Kira to start becoming involved with the character Lacus, so he had Flay killed off in the final episode, never getting the chance to reunite with him or fully make things up with him. Many people show biased hate for her, performing the character of Lacus because she's portrayed as the perfect angel, but Flay was a good example of how war affects everyone in different ways, making them make bad choices when fear and desperation take over. The two characters have some similarities, both had a mother die young, a politician father who is away most of the time, raised in a sheltered and luxury lifestyle, and had their father killed as a result of the war. Honestly, Lacus acts like a bioroid from Appleseed, basically having her negative emotions suppressed, so people see her as perfect, while saying Flay was pure evil. But they both could have been written to go in the opposite paths. To quote Frank Barnes, "The only difference between you and me is One Bad Day!"
